HAJJ ACCORDING TO THE QURAN

2: 158. Indeed, the safa and the marwa are from the symbols of Allah. So whoever PERFORMS HAJJ of the HOUSE OR PERFORM UMRA, so NO BLAME on HIM THAT HE WALKS BETWEEN BOTH OF THEM. And whoever VOLUNTARILY does GOOD, then indeed, Allah is All- appreciative, All knowing.

2:189. They ask you about the NEW MOONS, SAY, They are INDICATIONS OF PERIODS for the PEOPLE, and for the HAJJ: And it is not the righteousness that YOU COME TO THE HOUSES from their BACKS, and but the RIGHTEOUS  is ONE WHO FEARS ALLAH. And COME TO THE HOUSES FROM THEIR DOORS. And FEAR ALLAH so that YOU MAY BE SUCCESSFUL.

2:196. And COMPLETE the HAJJ AND the UMRAH FOR ALLAH. And if you are held back then offer WHATEVER can be OBTAINED with EASE OF the SACRIFICIAM ANIMAL. And DO NOT SHAVE YOUR HEADS UNTIL REACHES THE SACRIFICAL ANIMAL TO ITS DESTINATION.  Then whoever is among YOU ILL Or HE has an ailment of HIS HEAD then a RANSOM of FASTING or CHARITY or SACRIFICE. Then WHEN YOU ARE SECURE then whoever TOOK ADVANTAGE of the UMRAH FOLLOWED by the HAJJ then offer whatever can be OBTAINED with EASE of the SACRIFICAL ANIMAL.  Then WHOEVER CAN NOT FIND then a FAST of THREE DAYS DURING BY THE HAJJ and SEVEN DAYS. When YOU RETURN THIS TEN DAYS in ALL. That is for the ONE WHOSE CAN NOT is FAMILY PRESENT NEAR AL- MASJID AL HARAM. And FEAR ALLAH and KNOW THAT ALLAH IS SEVERE in RETRIBUTION.

2: 197. For the HAJJ are MONTHS well known, then whoever undertakes therein the HAJJ then NO SEXUAL RELATIONS, and NO WICKEDNESS and NO QUARRELLING DURING THE HAJJ. And whoever you DO of GOOD knows it ALLAH. And TAKE PROVISION, BUT INDEED the BEST PROVISION is RIGHTEOUSNESS. And FEAR ME, O MEN OF UNDERSTANDING.

2:198. Not is on YOU ANY SIN that you seek bounty from your RABBIKUM. And when YOU DEPART from MOUNT ARAFAT then REMEMBER ALLAH near the MONUMENT the SCARED. And REMEMBER HIM as HE HAS GUIDED YOU, and though you were from before it, SURELY AMONG THOSE WHO WENT ASTRAY.

2:199. Then DEPART from WHEREVER DEPART THE PEOPLE and ASK FORGIVENESS of ALLAH. Indeed, Allah is OFT-FORGIVING, MOST MERCIFUL.

22:27. And PROCLAIM to the MANKIND of the PILGRIMAGE; THEY WILL COME TO YOU ON FOOT and on EVERY LEAN CAMEL: THEY WILL COME FROM EVERY MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY DISTANT.

22:28. That THEY MAY WITNESS BENEFITS for THEM, and MENTION THE NAME OF ALLAH on DAYS KNOWN over what has PROVIDED them of the BEAST of CATTLE. So EAT of THEM and FEED the MISERABLE the POOR.

22:29.Then LET THEM end their PRESCRIBED DUTIES and FULFILL their VOWS, and CIRCUMAMBALATE the ANCIENT HOUSE.

22:30. That and whoever honors the SACRED RITES of ALLAH, then it is BEST FOR HIM NEAR HIS RABBIHI. And are MADE LAWFUL TO YOU the CATTLE EXCEPT WHAT IS RECITED TO YOU. So AVOID the ABOMINATION of the IDOLS and AVOID THE FALSE WORD.

22:31. Being upright to ALLAH, NOT ASSOCIATING PARTNERS WITH HIM. And whoever ASSOCIATES PARTNER WITH ALLAH then it is as though HE HAD FALLEN FROM THE SKY and SNATCHED HIM THE BIRDS, or HAD BLOWN WITH HIM THE WIND to A PLACE FAR OFF.

22:32. That, and whoever HONORS the SYMBOLS OF ALLAH then INDEED, it is FROM the PIETY of the HEARTS.

22:33. For you therein are BENEFITS for a TERM APPOINTED; then their PLACE of SACRIFICE for the ANCIENT HOUSE.

22:34. And for EVERY NATION WE HAVE APPOINTED a RITE, that they may MENTION THE NAME OF ALLAH over WHAT HE HAS PROVIDED THEM of the BEAST of CATTLE. And YOUR GOD (FAILAHUKUM) is ONE GOD (ILAHUN), so to SUBMIT HIM. And GIVE GLAD TIDINGS to the HUMBLE ONES.

22:35.THOSE WHEN is MENTIONED ALLAH - FEAR THEIR HEARTS, and THOSE WHO ARE PATIENT OVER WHATEVER has AFFLICTED THEM, and THOSE WHO ESTABLISH the prayer( ALSALATI), and OUT of WHAT WE HAVE  PROVIDED THEM THEY SPEND.

22:36. And the CAMELS AND CATTLE- we have made them for you among the SYMBOLS OF ALLAH,for you therein is GOOD. So MENTION THE NAME OF ALLAH OVER THEM when LINED UP, and WHEN are DOWN their SIDES, then EAT FROM THEM and FEED the NEEDY WHO DO NOT ASK and the NEEDY WHO ASK. Thus we have SUBJECTED THEM for YOU so that YOU MAY BE GRATEFUL.

CHAPTER SURAH BAQRAH 122 - 133

2:122 O Children of Israel, remember My blessings that I had blessed you with, and that I had preferred you over all the worlds.

2:123. And beware of a Day when no soul can avail another soul, nor will any amendment be accepted from it, nor will any intercession help it; they will not be supported.

[Absolute justice is about to prevail in the State of Madinah, then in this world, and ultimately in the Hereafter.

2:48.Guard yourselves against the Day on which no soul will be of help to another. No intercession will be accepted, no ransom taken, and no help will be given.

6:164. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Should I seek a Rabb other than Allah while He is the Rabb of everything?” No one will reap except what they sow. No soul burdened with sin will bear the burden of another. Then to your Rabb is your return, and He will inform you of your differences.]

2: 124. And Abraham was tested by words from His Lord, which he fulfilled. He said: "I will make you a leader for the people." He said: "And also from my progeny?" He said: "My pledge will not encompass the wicked."

2:125. And We have made the Sanctuary to be a model for the people and a security. And you shall take, from the station of ibrahim, a place for making the contact. And We entrusted to Ibrahim and Ismail: "You shall purify My Sanctuary for those who visit, and those who are devoted, and the kneeling, the prostrating."

2:126. And Ibrahim said: "My Rabb, make this a land of peace, and provide for its inhabitants of the fruits for whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day." He said: "As for he who rejects, I will let him enjoy for a while, then I will force him to the retribution of the Fire. What a miserable destiny!"

[14:37.Our Rabb! I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley, near Your Sacred House, Our Rabb, so that they may establish prayer. So make the hearts of ˹believing˺ people incline towards them and provide them with fruits, so perhaps they will be thankful.

17:18-20. Whoever desires this fleeting world ˹alone˺, We hasten in it whatever We please to whoever We will; then We destine them for Hell, where they will burn, condemned and rejected.

But whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it accordingly, and is a ˹true˺ believer, it is they whose striving will be appreciated.

We provide both the former and the latter from the bounty of your Rabb. And the bounty of your Lord can never be withheld.

22:25. Indeed, those who persist in disbelief and hinder ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah and from the Sacred Masjid—which We have appointed for all people, residents and visitors alike—along with whoever intends to deviate by doing wrong in it, We will cause them to taste a painful punishment.

95:3.And this the secure city ˺]

2:127. And as Abraham raised from the Sanctuary its foundations, along with Ismail "Our Rabb accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knowledgeable."

2:128. "Our Rabb and let us submit to You and from our progeny a nation submitting to You, and show us our rites, and forgive us; You are the Forgiver, the Merciful."

[2:186.When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.

2:286. Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Rabb! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Rabb! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Rabb! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

‘Manasik’ = Ways of service and devotion to Allah especially during Hajj with camel sacrifice by some as needed for the congregation to be self-sufficient in food resource. = Being of service to Allah by achieving human unity, and thus being of service to all mankind.]

2:129. "Our Rabb, and send among them a messenger from among themselves, that he may recite to them Your revelations and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them. You are the Noble, the Wise."

[Tazkiah from Zaku = Development of the ‘self’ = Personal development = Self-actualization. This teaching will not be mere lecturing, but it will entail the establishment of the Deen the Divinely Prescribed System of Life in the individuals and the society. A benevolent society helps the individuals to grow in goodness and attain self-actualization.

2:231.When his Rabb ordered him, “Submit ˹to My Will˺,” he responded, “I submit to the Rabb of all worlds.”

17:39. This is part of the wisdom which your Lord has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺. And do not set up any other god with Allah ˹O humanity˺, or you will be cast into Hell, blameworthy, rejected.

33:34.˹Always˺ remember what is recited in your homes of Allah’s revelations and ˹prophetic˺ wisdom. Surely Allah is Most Subtle, All-Aware.

57:25. Indeed, We sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and with them We sent down the Scripture and the balance ˹of justice˺ so that people may administer justice. And We sent down iron with its great might, benefits for humanity, and means for Allah to prove who ˹is willing to˺ stand up for Him and His messengers without seeing Him. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Almighty.]

2:130. And who would abandon the creed of Ibrahim except one who fools himself? We have selected him in this world, and in the Hereafter he is of the righteous.

[As-Saaliheen = The righteous ones = Those who have attained self-actualization = Perfected their personalities = Maximized their human potential = Who set things right = Help others = Create balance in the society = Fulfill others’ needs = Raise the community.

16:120. Indeed, Ibrahim was a nation obedient to Allah upright, and not he was of the polytheists.]

2:131. When  his Rabb ordered him "Submit (yourself)," he responded, "I (have) submitted to (the) Rabb (of) all worlds."

2:132. And enjoined [it] Ibrahim (upon) his sons and Yaqub, "O my sons! Indeed, Allah has CHOSEN for you the DEEN, so not (should) YOU DIE EXCEPT while you (are) SUBMISSIVE (MUSLIMS)."

[” (Muslims = Submitters to Allah alone, guardians of peace.

22:78. Strive for ˹the cause of˺ Allah in the way He deserves, for ˹it is˺ He ˹Who˺ has chosen you, and laid upon you no hardship in the aldeen—the way of your forefather Abraham. ˹It is Allah˺ Who named you ‘the ones who submit’(Muslim) ˹in the˺ earlier ˹Scriptures˺ and in this ˹Quran˺, so that the Messenger may be a witness over you, and that you may be witnesses over humanity. So establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and hold fast to Allah. He ˹alone˺ is your Guardian. What an excellent Guardian, and what an excellent Helper!

Deen = The Divinely Prescribed System of Life = Al-Islam. It has more to do with the collective life of humans and the science of sociology. It concerns itself with people living in this world collectively in peace according to a Code of permanent values that ensures success in both lives. Religion Mazhab is more of a generic term signifying a creed involving certain rites and rituals and seeking individual salvation. Islam being a Collective System of Life is, in fact, a challenge to religion]

2:133. Or did you witness when death came to Jacob? He asked his children, “Who will you serve after my passing?” They replied, “We will ˹continue to˺serve your Allah, the Allah of your forefathers—Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac—the One Allah. And to Him we ˹all˺ submit ( muslimoon).”

CHAPTER SURAH BAQRAH 112 - 121

2: 112. But no! Whoever submits themselves to Allah and does good will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.

[2:62. Indeed, the believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabians—whoever ˹truly˺ believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good will have their reward with their Rabb. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.

7:180. Allah has the Most Beautiful Names. So call upon Him by them, and keep away from those who abuse His Names. They will be punished for what they used to do.

41:40. Indeed, those who abuse Our revelations are not hidden from Us. Who is better: the one who will be cast into the Fire or the one who will be secure on Judgment Day? Do whatever you want. He is certainly All-Seeing of what you do.

*They have fulfilled the purpose of life that is, to serve the Creator by serving His creation, thereby developing their personalities in this life, and thus, attaining true immortality with further progress in the life to come]

2: 113. The Jews say, “The Christians have nothing to stand on” and the Christians say, “The Jews have nothing to stand on,” although both recite the Scriptures. And those ˹pagans˺ who have no knowledge say the same ˹about people of faith˺. Surely Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment regarding their dispute.

[Qaul = Utterance = Thought = Assertion = Tenet = Attitude = Expression. Mankind holding divergent views will acknowledge the Divine truth in this world as well.

9:33.He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹true˺ guidance and the deen of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists.

11:118. Had your Rabb so willed, He would have certainly made humanity one single community ˹of believers˺, but they will always ˹choose to˺ differ.

41:53. We will show them Our signs in the universe and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that this ˹Quran˺ is the truth. Is it not enough that your Rabb is a Witness over all things?

48:28. He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹right˺ guidance and the Deen of truth, making it prevail over all others. And sufficient is Allah as a Witness.

61:9. He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹true˺ guidance and the deen of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists. ]

2:114. Who does more wrong than those who prevent Allah’s Name from being mentioned in His places of submission and strive to destroy them? Such people have no right to enter these places except with fear. For them there is disgrace in this world, and they will suffer a tremendous punishment in the Hereafter.

[9:17. It is not for the polytheists to maintain the masjid of Allah while they openly profess disbelief. Their deeds are void, and they will be in the Fire forever.

9:107. There are also those ˹hypocrites˺ who set up a masjid˹only˺ to cause harm, promote disbelief, divide the believers, and as a base for those who had previously fought against Allah and His Messenger. They will definitely swear, “We intended nothing but good,” but Allah bears witness that they are surely liars.

72:18. The places of Masjid are ˹only˺ for Allah, so do not invoke anyone besides Him.

Masajid = Mosques = Administration centers of the Divine System = Collective submission and consultation on how best to follow the Divine Commands = Centers that the Islamic government will establish to implement the Qur’anic Order in the society and manage social welfare. These are Centers where people have open access to their office bearers, where government decrees are announced and every member of the society can voice one’s opinion without fear.

Masjid = Singular,Mosque = Sincere collective submission = Centers of Divine System.

7:29. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “My Rabb has commanded uprightness and dedication ˹to Him alone˺ in masjid, calling upon Him with sincere devotion. Just as He first brought you into being, you will be brought to life again.”]

2: 115. To Allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn you are facing ˹towards˺ Allah. Surely Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.

[3:95. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah has declared the truth. So follow the Way of Abraham, the upright—who was not a polytheist.”

The benevolent Divinely Prescribed System of Life should be followed everywhere on earth. In the interim, any community may follow it.]

2:116. They say, “Allah has offspring.” Glory be to Him! In fact, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth—all are subject to His Will.

[He needs no helpers, associates or offspring to manifest His Magnificence, and there is none like unto Him.

112: 1-4. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah—One ˹and Indivisible˺

Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺.

He has never had offspring, nor was He born.

And there is none comparable to Him.”]

2:117. ˹He is˺ the Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, “Be!” And it is!

[Qaul = Saying = Thought. Badee’= Initiator = Originator = One Who creates from nothing = The Impeccable Creator.]

2:118. Those who have no knowledge say, “If only Allah would speak to us or a sign would come to us!” The same was said by those who came before. Their hearts are all alike. Indeed, We have made the signs clear for people of sure faith.

[by exploring the internal evidence in these revelations and in the Universe.

2:108. Or do you ˹believers˺ intend to ask of your Messenger as Moses was asked before? But whoever trades belief for disbelief has truly strayed from the Right Way.

2:256. Let there be no compulsion in Deen, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

18:29. And say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹This is˺ the truth from your Rabb. Whoever wills let them believe, and whoever wills let them disbelieve.” Surely We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose walls will ˹completely˺ surround them. When they cry for aid, they will be aided with water like molten metal, which will burn ˹their˺ faces. What a horrible drink! And what a terrible place to rest!.

42:51. It is not ˹possible˺ for a human being to have Allah communicate with them, except through inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger-angel to reveal whatever He wills by His permission. He is surely Most High, All-Wise.

76:3. We already showed them the Way, whether they ˹choose to˺ be grateful or ungrateful.]

2:119. We have surely sent you with the truth ˹O Prophet˺ as a deliverer of good news and a warner. And you will not be accountable for the residents of the Hellfire.

[13:40. Whether We show you ˹O Prophet˺ some of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die ˹before that˺, your duty is only to deliver ˹the message˺. Judgment is for Us.

Jaheem = Blazing fire = Insurmountable Barrier to the development of the human ‘self’ = Figuratively, Hell. The human ‘self’ can make progress only by believing in the Divine System and accordingly helping Allah creations. Please see the author's note at the end of this rendition for an understanding of Self-actualization, Afterlife, Paradise and Hellfire]

2:120. Never will the Jews or Christians be pleased with you, until you follow their faith. Say, “Allah’s guidance is the only ˹true˺ guidance.” And if you were to follow their desires after ˹all˺ the knowledge that has come to you, there would be none to protect or help you against Allah.

[7:3. Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not take others as guardians besides Him. How seldom are you mindful!

10:109. And follow what is revealed to you, and be patient until Allah passes His judgment. For He is the Best of Judges.

13:37. And so We have revealed it as an authority in Arabic. And if you were to follow their desires after ˹all˺ the knowledge that has come to you, there would be none to protect or shield you from Allah.*

It is not a matter of my religion or your religion. Al-Qur’an is the updated, unadulterated message from the same Creator Who revealed the previous scriptures]

2:121. Those to whom We gave the Book, they recite it as it truthfully deserves to be recited; they believe in it. As for those who disbelieve in it, they are the losers.

[10:58. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “In Allah’s grace and mercy let them rejoice. That is far better than whatever ˹wealth˺ they amass.”]

CHAPTER SURAH BAQRAH 101- 111

2:101 And when a messenger came to them from Allah, authenticating what was with them, a group of those who had already received the Book placed the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know.

2:102 And they followed what the devils recited regarding the kingship of Solomon. Solomon did not reject, but it was the devils who rejected by teaching people magic, and teaching them what was sent down on the two angels in Babylon, Haroot and Maroot. They did not teach anyone until they would say: "We are a test, so do not lose faith!" Thus they teach what can separate between a person and his mate; but they cannot harm anyone except with the permission of Allah. And they learn what harms them and does not benefit them, and they have known that he who purchases such has no place in the Hereafter. Miserable indeed is what they purchased with their souls if only they knew!

[4:51 Did you not see those who were given a portion of the Book, they believe in sorcery and evil, and they say to those who rejected: "You are better guided than those who believed the path."

45:22. And Allah created the heavens and the earth with the truth, and so that every soul may be recompensed for whatever it earned, and they will not be wronged.]

2:103 And had they believed and been righteous, it would have brought them a recompense with Allah which is far better if only they knew!

[Divine laws never change

33:62.This is the way of Allah with those who have passed away before, and you will not find any change in the way of Allah.

35:43. Arrogance on the earth, and evil scheming. And the evil schemes only backfire on those who scheme them. Were they expecting anything different from the ways used on the people of the past? You will not find any change in the way of Allah, and you will not find any bypass to the way of Allah.

48:23. Such is the way of Allah with those who have passed away before, and you will not find any change in the way of Allah.

And you will never find even a slight turn in them.

17:77. Such was the way of those whom We had sent before you of Our messengers. And you will not find any change in Our way.]

2:104.  O you who believe, do not say:"Raa`ena" ("listen to us,") but say:"Unzurna!” ("Grant us attention)," and listen. For the rejecters is a painful retribution.

[4:136. O you who believe; believe in Allah and His messenger, and the Book which was sent down to His messenger, and the Book which was sent before. And whoever rejects Allah, and His angels, and His Books, and His messengers, and the Last Day; then he has strayed a far straying.

12:108. Say:"This is my way, I invite to Allah in full disclosure, myself and whoever follows me. And glory be to Allah; and I am not of the polytheists."

Also, choosing to believe in truth is a great blessing of Allah. Hence, my rendition: O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Ra’ina with a slight twist of the tongue and in very similar Hebrew words has derogatory meanings to it, e.g. “Be our shepherd”, “O Our proud one!”, “May deafness befall you.” Some Jews resorted to these kinds of insults to the Prophet.

4:46. From among those who are Jewish are some who take the words out of context, and they say: "We hear and disobey, and listen but let not any listen, and shepherd us," in a twisting of their tongues and as a mockery of the system! And had they said: "We hear and obey, and listen, and watch over us," it would have been better for them and more upright; but Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, they do not believe except very little.

The Lesson is this: Be not ambiguous and speak words straight to the point.

33:70. O you who believe, be aware of Allah and speak only the truth.]

2:105.  Neither do those who have rejected from among the people of the Book, nor from among the polytheists, wish that any good comes down to you from your Rabb. But Allah chooses with His mercy whom He wishes; and from Allah is the greatest grace.

[3:70-71. "O people of the Book, why do you reject the revelations of Allah while you are bearing witness?"

"O people of the Book, why do you confound the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?"

16:30. And it was said to those who were righteous: "What has your Rabb sent down?" They said: "All goodness." For those who have done good in this world there is good; and the Hereafter is goodness. Excellent indeed is the home of the righteous.]

*2:106 We do not duplicate a sign, or make it forgotten, unless We bring one which is like it or even greater. Did you not know that Allah is capable of all things?*

[Some of the People of the Book question why a new revelation was necessary. The evolution of human civilization has now come to a point where the Final Message for all mankind can be given, widely distributed, implemented and preserved forever. So, the Qur’an is now the perfected Message for all mankind at all times; its exact preservation being guaranteed by none but the Almighty Himself.

5:48. And We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, authenticating what is between your hands of the Book and superseding it. So judge between them by what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their desires from what has come to you of the truth. For each of you We have made laws, and a structure; and if Allah had willed, He would have made you all one nation, but He tests you with what He has given you; so strive to do good. To Allah you will return all of you, and He will inform you regarding that in which you dispute.

6:115. And the word of your Rabb has been completed with truth and justice; there is no changing His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

15:9. Indeed it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed it is We who will preserve it.

16:101. And if We exchange a revelation in place of another revelation; and Allah is more aware of what He is revealing; they say: "You are making this up!" Alas, most of them do not know.

22:52. And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet, without having the devil interfere with his wishes. Allah then duplicates what the devil has cast, and Allah secures His revelations. And Allah is Knower, Wise.]

2:107.  Did you not know that to Allah is the kingship of the heavens and the earth, and that you do not have besides Allah any guardian or supporter?*

[He is fully Cognizant of your needs, and knows the messages and timings of His revelations.]

2:108. Or do you want to ask your messenger as Moses was asked before? Whoever replaces belief with rejection, he has indeed strayed from the right path.

[2:67.And Moses said to his people: "Allah orders you to slaughter a heifer." They said: "Do you mock us?" He said: "I seek refuge with Allah that I not be of the ignorant ones."

Instead of reflecting on the evidence of the truth, the people of Moses demanded him to bring Allah face to face!

4:153. The people of the Book ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. They had asked Moses for even more than that, for they said: "Show us Allah openly!" So the lightning strike took them for their wickedness. Then they took the calf after the clarity had come to them, and We pardoned them for this; We gave Moses a clear authority.

And they kept asking him vain questions

5:101. O you who believe, do not ask about things which, if clarified, would harm you - and if you ask about them with the Qur'an being revealed, then they will become clear to you. Allah pardons for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Compassionate.

and kept making excuses.

5:24.They said: "O Moses, we will never enter it as long as they are in it, so go you and your Rabb and fight, we will stay right here!"]

2:109  Many of the people of the Book have wished that they could return you to being rejecters after your believing, out of envy from their souls after the truth was made clear to them. You shall forgive them and overlook until Allah  brings His will. Allah is capable of all things.

[Qadeer = Appointer of laws = Supreme Controller = Able to do all things = Powerful = Almighty.

5:13.But because of them breaking their covenant, We have cursed them, and made their hearts become hardened; they take the words out of context; and they forgot much of what they were reminded of. And you will still discover betrayal in them except for a few; so pardon them and overlook; Allah loves the good doers.

15:85. And We have not created the heavens and the earth and what is in between except with the truth. And the Hour is coming, so overlook their faults gracefully

73:10. And be patient over what they say, and depart from them in a good manner.

74:11. So leave Me alone with he whom I have created.*

Shayi = Thing = Derived meaning, event. Ethnic and nationalistic prejudices give rise to envy.

2:111. And they said: "None shall enter the Paradise except those who are Jewish or Nazarenes;" this is what they wish!  Say: "Bring forth your proof if you are truthful."

5:18. And the Jews and the Nazarenes said: "We are the children of Allah, and His loved ones." Say: "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" No, you are merely human beings which He has created. He forgives whom He pleases, and He punishes whom He pleases. And to Allah is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between, and to Him is the destiny.]

2:110  And hold the contact prayer, and contribute towards purification; and what you bring forth of good for your souls you will find it with Allah. Allah is watching what you do.*

[2:3. Those who believe in the unseen, and hold the contact prayer, and from Our provisions to them they spend.*

*Inn = Surely, Indeed, Note, Remember, Certainly, Recall, Verily, Ponder]

2:111  And they said: "None shall enter the Paradise except those who are Jewish or Nazarenes;" this is what they wish! Say: "Bring forth your proof if you are truthful."

[2:135.  And they said: "Be Jewish or Nazarenes so that you may be guided!" Say: "No, rather the creed of Abraham, monotheism; for he was not of the polytheists."

Burhan = Clear proof = Firm evidence = Indomitable argument = Strong logic]

THE HISTORY OF HADITH

(WHY AND WHEN IT WAS WRITTEN)

PROPHET MUHMMAD FORBIDS the WRITING of HIS HADITH

It has been documented in the collections of 'Muslim', 'Ahmed' and other sources of hadith that prophet Muhammad has prohibited the writing of his hadith. All the hadith collections we have today, which are regarded by the hadith scholars as authentic (sahih), were written two centuries after the death of the prophet. For two centuries, in accordance to the instructions left by the prophet, there was no authorised documentation of the hadith. Out of the sahih collections we have today, the first to be written was that of Bukhari who was born in the year 194 after Hijra (870 AD). The authors of the other six hadith collections, like Muslim and Abu Dawood, were all born after Bukhari. For more info about the exact dates of birth of all the six authors of the hadith collections please see: Six major hadith collections

The Quran speaks of the fabrication of hadith, something which will be done by the enemies of every prophet:

And thus, We have made for every prophet enemies from among the human and jinn devils. They inspire to one another fancy sayings in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and what they fabricate. 6:112

The Quran also confirms that it is in accordance with God's will that the fabrication of the hadith was allowed to happen. This was to serve as criteria for distinguishing the hypocrites from the true believers. Those who uphold hadith are proven to be false believers. The true believers are satisfied with God alone. They are satisfied with God's Word alone and with God's Law (Quran) alone. They believe God when He states that the Quran is complete and fully detailed, and therefore they do not need any other source:

Shall I seek other than God as a lawmaker when it is He who has brought down to you the Book fully detailed? Those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it was brought down from your Lord with truth, so do not be among the doubters.

The Word of your Lord has been completed, in truth and justice. None can change His words. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable. 6:114-115

They obey God's command to uphold no hadith other than the Quran:

These are God's revelations that We recite to you with truth, so in which hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe? 45:6

On the other hand, false believers are not satisfied with the Quran being the only source of law, thus they seek other sources:

This is to let the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to it, accept it, and thus commit what they are committing. 6:113

The books of hadith report the prophet prohibiting the writing of his hadith and that his followers should not write anything from him other than the Quran! It is also documented that the prophet maintained his stand until death. Shown below are a number of such hadith:

(1) Ibn Saeed Al-Khudry reported that the messenger of God had said,

"Do not write anything from me except Quran. Anyone who wrote anything other than the Quran shall erase it." [Ahmed, Vol. 1, Page 171, and Sahih Muslim, Zuhd, Book 42, Number 7147]

Some hadith scholars tried to imply that prophet Muhammed changed his view about writing the hadith. However, the following hadith, which was reported 30 years after the death of the prophet, confirms that prophet Muhammed never authorised the writing of the hadith after he instructed his followers not to write anything other than the Quran.

(2) From Ibn Hanbal;

Zayd Ibn Thabit (The prophet's closest revelation writer) visited the Khalifa Mu'aawiyah (more than 30 years after the prophet's death), and told him a story about the prophet. Mu'aawiyah liked the story and ordered someone to write it down. But Zayd said. " the messenger of God ordered us never to write anything of his hadith".

(3) The famous book, "Ulum Al-Hadith" by Ibn Al-Salah, reports a hadith by Abu Hurayra in which Abu Hurayra said the messenger of God came out to us while we were writing his hadiths and said; "What are you writing?" We said, "hadiths that we hear from you, messenger of God." He said, "A book other than the book of God?" We said, "Should we talk about you?" He said, Talk about me, that would be fine, but those who will lie will go to Hell. Abu Hurayra said, we collected what we wrote of hadiths and burned them in fire.

(4) In the famous book, "Taq-yeed Al-Ilm", Abu Hurayra said, the messenger of God was informed that some people are writing his hadiths. He took to the pulpit of the mosque and said, "What are these books that I heard you wrote? I am just a human being. Anyone who has any of these writings should bring it here. Abu Hurayra said we collected all these and burned them in fire.

(5) Ibn Hanbal in his Musnad book, narrates a hadith in which Abdullah Ibn Omar said, "the messenger of God one day came out to us as if he was going to depart us soon and said, "When I depart you (die), hold to the book of God, prohibit what it prohibits and accept as halal what it makes halal."

(6) Again, in the book "Taq-yeed Al-Ilm", Abu Saeed Al-Khudry said, " I asked the messenger of God a permission to write his hadiths, but he refused to give me a permission."

(7) The farewell pilgrimage of prophet Muhammed is a corner stone in the Muslim history. The final sermon given by the prophet during this pilgrimage was witnessed by thousands of Muslims. There are however three versions of this sermon in the hadith books. This by itself reflects the degree of inconsistency of the hadith books as this is the most witnessed speech of prophet Muhammed.

1- First version, " I left for you what if you hold on to, you will never be misguided, the book of God and my family. Muslim 44/4, Nu2408; Ibn Hanbal 4/366; darimi 23/1, nu 3319.

This is the VERSION UPHELD by the SHIA MUSLIMS.

2-Second version, "I left for you what if you hold on to, you will never be misguided, the book of God and my sunnah" . Muwatta, 46/3

This is the VERSION UPHELD by the SUNNI MUSLIMS.

3- Third version, "I left for you what if you hold on to, you will never be misguided, the book of God." Muslim 15/19, nu 1218; Ibn Majah 25/84, Abu dawud 11/56.

This last version is the version hated by the Sunni and Shia Muslims alike. This is the only version which conforms with the repeated assertion in the Quran that Muhammed's message was only the Quran. Many Sunni Muslims and Shia Muslims do not even know that the last version of the sermon exists. In reality, they do not want to know, the truth hurts.

HISTORY OF THE DOCUMENTATION OF HADITH

The writing and documentation of the hadith is an interesting and important part of Islamic history.

God repeatedly confirms in the Quran that the Book is complete, perfect and fully detailed (6:19,38,114,115; 50:45, 12:111), and if there was a need, He would have given us hundreds of books, not just one Quran (see18:109 and 31:27).

Hadith and the 'Khalifas Al-Rashideen' (guided khalifas)

The four guided khalifas who ruled the Muslim Umma (nation) after the death of prophet Muhammed, respected the command of the prophet and prohibited the writing and collection of hadith. They accepted that the Quran is fully detailed and that it is the only source of religion (6:114).

Abu Bakr at one point was not sure whether to keep what he knows of hadith or not. He had collected 500 hadiths during very long companionship of prophet Muhammed, but he could not sleep the night until he burned them. Omar Ibn Al-Khattab insisted on destroying the hadith collected by his son Abdullah. Islamic history mentions the story of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab restraining four of the prophet's companions because of their insistence on telling hadith, these were Ibn Masoud, Abu Al-Dardaa, Abu Masoud Al-Anssary and Abu Tharr Al-Ghaffary. Omar called Abu Hurayra a liar and threatened to send him back to Yemen where he came from if he does not stop telling these lies about prophet Muhammed. He stopped until Omar died then started again.

Omar is also reported to have stated that he had desired to write down a collection of the prophet's sayings, but refrained for fear of the Muslims choosing to abandon the teachings of the Quran in favour of the hadith.

"I wanted to write the Sun'an, and I remembered a people who were before you, they wrote other books to follow and abandoned the book of God. And I will never, I swear, replace God's book with anything" Jami' Al-Bayan 1/67

Ali Ibn Abu Talib, the fourth khalifa in one of his speeches said, "I urge all those who have writings taken from the messenger of God to go home and erase it. The people before you were annihilated because they followed the hadith of their scholars and left the book of their Lord." (Sunan Al-Daramy)

Khalifa Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz, the beginning of the corruption

Abu Hurayra narrated more hadith than anybody else including Abu Bakr, Omar, Ali, and Aysha who lived with the prophet all their lives. In less than two years of being with the prophet, Abu Hurayra narrated more hadith than all these companions of the prophet put together. He narrated 5374 hadith. Ibn Hanbal quoted 3848 of his hadith in his book. The guided khalifas who ruled the Muslim Umma after the death of prophet Muhammed respected the prophet's wish for not writing anything but the Quran and denounced any attempt of writing the hadith and sunna. Their example was followed for the first two centuries after the prophet's death. By that time, the lies about prophet Muhammed were widespread and the people deserted the Quran to look for hadith, that is when the khalifa Omar Ibn Abdel-Aziz issued an order to permit the writing of hadith and sunna thinking that the genuine hadith would be recorded and that this would put an end to the lies about prophet Muhammed. In his ruling he disregarded the commandments of God in the Quran and the instructions left by prophet Muhammed, as well as the examples of his predecessors and the objection of many of the scholars in his time. Since then Islam moved from the religion of God, the Quran, to the infamous hadith and sunna that were originally prohibited by God and His prophet.

THE EARLY WRITING OF THE HADITH

It is historically true that hadith were written as early as the prophet's time, but the prophet and those who ruled after him condemned these writings, destroyed them and looked at those who wrote these hadith with disgrace. The hadith books mentioned that prophet Muhammed burned the collected hadith, and was very angry at people making "another book with the book of Allah." Abu Bakr and Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, were also reported to burn the hadith collections.

The prohibition of hadith was continued until Omar Ibn Abdel-Aziz permitted the writing of the hadith, then many books and notebooks appeared containing hadith, e.g. Ibn Greeg, Malik Ibn Anas, Mohammed Ibn Is'haq. The most famous from among these were the book of Malik Ibn Anas, (Al-Muwattaa) which had about 500 hadith. At the end of the second century, the books known as 'Masaned' appeared, e.g. the Masnad of Ahmed Ibn Hanbal that has about 40,000 hadith. In the first half of the third century, the famous six books of hadith appeared. These are the books used by the scholars today. 1- Sahih Bukhari. 2- Sahih Muslem. 3- Sunan Abu Daoud. 4-Sunan Al-Termezhy. 5-Sunan Al-Nesaay. 6- Sunan Ibn Mageh.

In these books, a new religion was written that dominated over the Quran despite the claim for the opposite. In writing these books, the authors did not care if the hadith contradicted the Quran or the other hadith or even common sense. In reality they fulfilled the promise of God in 6:112-113

And thus, We have made for every prophet enemies from among the human and jinn devils. They inspire to one another fancy sayings in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it.* *You shall disregard them and what they fabricate.

This is to let the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to it, accept it, and thus commit what they are committing.6:112-113

HOW MANY HADITH?

The number of hadith collected and attributed to prophet Muhammed is in the hundreds of thousands, as much as 700,000. The majority of these hadith are pure lies and fabrications and were rejected by the early Muslim scholars who thought they can figure out which hadith is authentic and which is not. Let us look at some of the famous hadith collectors and what they collected.

(1) Malik Ibn Anas collected about 500 hadith in his famous book, Al-Muwattaa.

(2) Ahmed Ibn Hanbal, collected about 40,000 hadith, in his famous Musnad. He chose these 40,000 hadith from among 700,000 hadith. In other words he thought 660,000 hadith were un-proven, lies and/or fabrications and the others may be authentic. That is, 94% were lies and fabrications.

(3) Bukhari collected about 600,000 hadith. He accepted 7275 hadith and considered 592,725 hadith to be un-proven hadith, lies and/or fabrications. In other words, 99% of what he collected were considered unauthentic.

(4) Muslem collected 300,000 hadith. He accepted 4000 of them and rejected 296,000, that is, almost 99% were rejected.

This gives us an idea of how much corruption entered or tried to enter Islam from the back door.

ABU HURAIRAH AND  SO MANY LIES

Abu Hurayra came from Yemen in the seventh year of Hijra and converted to Islam. He stayed in the company of prophet Muhammed less than two years. He narrated more than 5000 hadith, 5374 to be exact, all from less than two years company. Compare this with the relatively few hadith narrated by Aysha, Abu Bakr, or Omar, for example, after very long company of the prophet. Most of his narrated hadith are called the "ahad" hadiths which are the hadith which were witnessed by only one person. In this case, Abu Hurayra. Some of the prophet's companions (sahaba) and Aysha, the prophet's wife, accused him of being a liar, telling lies about the prophet just to make up hadith and gain some status. Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, the second guided khalifa threatened Abu Hurayra to send him to exile if he does not stop telling hadith about Muhammed. He did stop until Omar's assassination then he started again. He kept telling hadith to please the khalifa of the Muslims then, including the time he lived in the royal palace of Mu'aawiyah in Syria. Abu Hurayra told his audience that he is telling them hadith that if he ever mentioned when Omar was alive, he would be given several lashes.

Abu Jaafar Al Iskafy mentioned that the khalifa, Mu'aawiyah, chose some of the people, including Abu Hurayra to tell fabricated stories and hadith about Ali Ibn Abu Talib, the prophet's cousin, to degrade him. Abu Hurayra lived in Mu'aawiyah's royal palace then and served him including serving his political views. He produced some of the hadith that demean and insult Ali Ibn Abu Talib, and portray him in a lower grade to Abu Bakr, Omar and Othman, only for the pleasure of Mu'aawiyah.

During Mu'aawiyah's rule, many hadith, with the help of Abu Hurayra, were invented that support the view that the imam or khalifa, should be obeyed just like God or the messenger, contradicting the rule of the Quran that all the matters should be decided through democratic consultation (not to forget that Abu Hurayra was living in the khalifa's Royal Palace at the time.)

Many of the hadith that were narrated by Abu Hurayra contradict other hadith, including his own narrated hadith and other people's hadith and contradict the Quran and contradict common sense.

Abu Hurayra narrated hadith after Kaab Al Ahbar, who was a Jewish convert who tried to explain the Quran by using the corrupted books of the Jews. He produced some of the most outrageous hadith that are full of contradictions to the Quran, taken from false stories in the Torah.

The Islamic historians told the story of Abu Hurayra after being given the governorship of Bahrain, he got very rich in two years, so Omar called him back and told him, "You, the enemy of Allah, you stole the money of Allah. I made you the Emir of Bahrain when you did not even have a pair of shoes, Where did you get all this money (400,000 Dirham)? it is said that Omar took 10,000 Dirham from him (Abu Hurayra admitted for only 20,000 Dirham).

Abu Hurayra was the one accused most of spreading fabricated hadith. Aysha, the prophet's wife always accused him of telling inaccurate or incomplete stories and of fabricating hadith that she never heard the prophet say. He was also known to have prejudice against women and dogs. He produced some of the most insulting hadith against Muslim women, and hadith that call for the killing of dogs.

Aysha and Abu Hurayra at odds

In the famous book "Taa'oueel Mukhtalaf Alhadith " by Ibn Qutaiba Al-Dinory, the story of Aysha (the prophet's wife) telling Abu Hurayra: "You tell hadith about prophet Muhammed that we never heard him say." He answered (as Bukhary reported); "You (Aysha) were busy with your mirror and make-up." She (Aysha) answered him; "It is you who were busy with your stomach and hunger. Your hunger kept you busy, you were running after the people in the allies, begging them for food, and they used to avoid you and get away from your way, and finally you would come back and pass out in front of my room and the people think you were crazy and step all over you."

Bukhari's 'sahih': example of corruption

Many Muslims talk about hadith with a respect that matches and sometimes exceeds that of the Quran! While the Quran does not leave any doubt as to where God wants believers to look for guidance and perfect happiness, those who do not believe God in His own words usually find in the hadith a refuge that has been condemned by the Quran repeatedly. God describes the Quran as the "best hadith" (39:23), and that we should not believe any hadith other than the Quran (45:6 and 7:185).

Bukhari is just one of several scholars who decided to collect the hadith despite the clear instructions left by prophet Muhammed and all the khalifas who followed him.

While current Christianity is largely the product of Paul's corruption and fabrication, traditional Sunni Islam as practised today, is the product of the corruption of the true religion of Islam by people like Bukhari.

As soon as Muslims deserted the Quran in favour of the hadith books, their religion was corrupted beyond belief. The practise of Islam today is but a reflection of the Islam of the scholars like Bukhari, Muslem, Nesaay, Termethy, Abu-Daoud and others. It is no longer the true message which prophet Muhammed delivered.

Not only did Bukhari break the rules that he claimed he used to ensure the authenticity of the hadith but his own personal feelings, political alliance and hatred to people like Ali Ibn Abu Talib affected his choice of what hadith to list in his book and what hadith to reject. He cared less about the content of the hadith itself . He listed many hadith that contradict the Quran, contradict other hadith, contradict common sense, insult God, insult prophet Muhammed, insult the prophet's wives and his family. The position that Bukhari took regarding Ali Ibn-Abu Talib vs his position towards Mu'aawyiah is but a reflection of the political corruption of Bukhari and his bias in listing the hadith that put down Ali while depicting his ardent enemy Mu'aawyiah as a pure and righteous man despite his known corruption and defiance of the simple Islamic laws. Bukhari narrated many hadith in his book, that are now labelled 'sahih' (authentic), by people who were considered liars, corrupted and untrustworthy. Muslim scholars who came after him were afraid to expose the truth and the shortcoming of Bukhari and other scholars of hadith and sunna like him. As a simple example, in the famous book 'Al-Mustadrek', the author states that Bukhari listed hadith taken from 434 persons who were not accepted by Muslem for his book 'Sahih Muslem' as trustworthy people. On the other hand, Muslem accepted in his book 625 persons who narrated hadith, who were rejected by Bukhari.

The corruption of Islam through hadith started during the prophet's life and accelerated soon after his death. This upholding of hadith is condemned by God and was also condemned by the prophet and the sahaba (companions of the prophet). This act reached its peak by the end of the third Hijra century when the famous six books (references) of hadith were written. The Quran states that the messenger will complain to God on the Day of Judgement of the Muslims deserting the Quran (25:30).

HADITH WHICH INSULTS PROPHET MUHAMMED*

The compilations of Bukhari and Muslem are full of shameful hadith that insult God, prophet Muhammed, the Muslims, Islam and also the intelligence of any normal human being.

In this section we can check some of the insults to prophet Muhammed by the same people who claim to be trying to preserve his hadith! Their lies and fabrications are obvious, yet they still call their fabricated hadith 'sahih' (authentic)! The following are some examples

(1) The sahih books have many regulations that contradict the Quran. In one of these hadith, the prophet is portrayed as someone who disobeyed God by playing the role of a lawmaker, as we know the Quran categorically emphasises that God is the only lawmaker (6:114, 66:1). One such hadith claims that the prophet issued a different punishment for adultery than the one authorised in the Quran by God. The punishment for adultery in the Quran is given in 24:2 and it is 100 lashes. However, the hadith, which is obviously a lie against the prophet, gives a punishment of stoning to death for adultery!

Muslim Book 17, Number 4192:

'Ubada b. as-Samit reported that Allah's apostle said that the punishment of adultery in case of married persons is one hundred lashes and then stoning (to death).

In response to this glaring discrepancy between Quran and hadith, the hadith followers claim that there was a verse in the Quran which authorised the punishment of stoning, but that it was eaten by a goat and thus removed from the Quran! What an insult to God, to the prophet and to the integrity of divine revelation. How can a Quranic verse be eaten by a goat when God promised to preserve the Quran (15:9)?

(2) In another hadith, we read that prophet Muhammed used to have intercourse with his wives, 9 of them in the same night, and that he was given the sexual power of 30 men.

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 6:

"Narrated Anas: The prophet used to go round (have sexual relations with) all his wives in one night, and he had nine wives."

What does this shameful lie have to do with the message of the Holy Quran and of worshipping God alone! What kind of image is Bukhari trying to give the prophet by this hadith? Does Bukhari understand the core of the messengership of Muhammad to be primarily related to his sexual virility? Is this what Bukhari thinks that God has sent His prophet for?

Moreover, whoever accepts such hadith as being authentic is in actual fact contributing to the publication of such gross lies against the prophet of God.

(3) In Bukhari we read that the prophet prohibited the Salat at certain times of the day! Needless to say, there is no such restriction in the Quran. Moreover, it is totally absurd to think that a genuine messenger would prohibit the worship of God at any time of the day!

Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 695:

Narrated Abdullah: I heard the prophet forbidding the offering of prayers at the time of sunrise and sunset."

(4) In Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 93

we read the story of a necklace lost by Aysha (the prophet's wife), so the prophet instructed all the Muslims with him to find the lost necklace. In the meantime, the stated time for prayer became due and they offered prayer without ablution! So God decided to give the Muslims the option of tayymum (dry ablution).

Another shameful hadith, yet regarded as authentic!

Not only does this hadith insult the prophet by saying that he observed a nullified prayer (one without ablution), but it also implies that the law of God, in this case the law of dry ablution, was decreed by God only to accommodate the error of the prophet rather than the law of God being universal and totally independent of events related to humans.

(5) In Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 82, Number 796 we read

"A group of people from the Oreyneh and Oqayelh tribes came to the prophet to embrace Islam. The prophet advised them to drink the urine of camels! Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left them thirsty in the desert to die."

This is the picture which the hadith books depict of the prophet, a man whom God described in the Quran as being compassionate and of high moral character. The hadith depicts him as a barbarian who gouges people's eyes out and cuts their hands and legs! This is not to mention the alleged instruction for drinking the urine of camels!

Now do we know why God described His Book (Quran) as the best hadith? Do we know why we should believe nothing but the Quran (45:6)?

Only the enemies of God, the enemies of prophet Muhammed and the enemies of Islam are the ones who uphold such books of hadith.

Maybe we now know why God said it is the enemies of the prophet who will fabricate these books (6:112) and that the hypocrites will be the ones who will accept them and uphold them. No wonder then that the messenger will complain to God on the Day of Judgement that his people deserted the Quran (25:30).

(6) Perhaps one of the hadith which are used most frequently to attack Islam and the prophet is the following one:

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:

Aysha narrated: that the prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Needless to say, if this was true it would be a gross insult against the prophet and also a case of child abuse to say the least. This story is undoubtedly a lie against the prophet and also against Aysha who is claimed to have said these words.

(7) The prophet describes women as crooked!

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 113:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's apostle said, "The woman is like a rib; if you try to straighten her, she will break. So if you want to get benefit from her, do so while she still has some crookedness."

Yet another hadith which is undoubtedly a lie against the prophet. This claimed hadith smells of a male dominated culture which treated women as second class inferior creatures, and not the words of a prophet sent by God. Yet another fabricated lie against the prophet.

(8) The prophet declared: "The best women are the ones who ride camels"!

Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 19:

“Narrated Abu Huraira: *The prophet said, "The best women are the riders of the camels and the righteous among the women of Quraish. They are the kindest women to their children in their childhood and the more careful women of the property of their husbands."

Riders of camels? Would God's prophet really give such a criterion for evaluating women!

(9) Perhaps one of the most glaring lies against the prophet is the one which claims that the prophet allowed couples to marry for a few days to satisfy their lust!

Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 52:

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah and Salama bin Al-Akwa':

While we were in an army, Allah's apostle came to us and said, "You have been allowed to do the Mut'a (marriage), so do it." Salama bin Al-Akwa' said: Allah's Apostle's said, "If a man and a woman agree (to marry temporarily), their marriage should last for three nights, and if they like to continue, they can do so; and if they want to separate, they can do so."

This lie is double fold. First, it portrays the prophet as a lawmaker besides God, which violates a number of Quranic verses that confirm that God is the only law giver such as 6:114 and 66:1. Second, it gives ground to people to approach marriage with a totally different attitude than the one designed by God. The words "muta marriage" translates to "marriage for lust", this in reality is a very subtle and disguised form of prostitution!

Needless to say, all the obstacles placed by God on the man before he can divorce his wife such as: to wait 4 months as a cooling period before divorce (2:226), seek a council from the 2 families (4:35), give the wife a divorce compensation (2:241), not expel the wife from the marriage home (65:1), all these obstacles are there to establish the fact that God regards marriage as a long lasting bond between man and woman, and not a three day fling that tests a couple's evaluation of each others sexual performance!

We may wonder what would a couple find out about each other after a three day highly sexual so-called marriage other than each other's sexual performance!

(10) Another glaring lie against the prophet is found in the hadith below. Throughout the Quran we are told that prophet Muhammad had no personal miracles. And in other verses God speaks to the prophet and tells him if the people ask you for personal miracles that he should say that he is no more than a human messenger with no miracles (see 17:90-93).

However the following hadith presents the prophet as one with awesome miracles:

Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 208:

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The people of Mecca asked Allah's apostle to show them a miracle. So he showed them the moon split in two halves between which they saw the Hiram mountain.

Examples of hadith which insult God

To follow are some examples of hadith which contain insults against God.

It may be useful to remind ourselves first of what God Almighty says about Himself in the Quran:

The vision perceives Him not while He encompasses all visions.

He is the Gentle One, the All-Aware. 6:103

There is nothing that is akin to Him. 42:11

When Moses asked to see God (7:143), God told him that he cannot see Him.

Now let us read some of the fabrications Bukhari and Muslem have in their books describing God and claiming it to be the words of the prophet:

(1) God appears to His believers and they see Him as they see the full moon!* (Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 529).

(2) God put His foot over Hell fire so it becomes full, (Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 78, Number 654).

(3) God laughs as humans!

 (Muslem Book 1, Number 349).

Other "sahih", lies and fabrications

In this section some of the most outrageous lies and fabrications, which the hadith scholars call authentic (sahih), presented. These hadith were approved in the hadith collections as long as their 'isnad' (chain of narrators) was considered creditable! This was done irrespective of the content of the hadith. Whether it contradicts the Quran or common sense did not seem to matter much! The following are just a sample of these sahih lies:

(1) Do not drink standing up

Sahih Muslem, Book 23, Number 5017:

"Abu Hurayra said, the messenger of God said, "Do not drink while standing up, if someone forgot and did it, he should vomit what he drank."

(2) Urinate in a standing position

Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Book 43, Number 651:

"The messenger of Allah urinated while standing."

(3) Do not urinate in a standing position

Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol 1, Book 1, Number 308

"Do not urinate standing up."

(4) Man in the image of God

Sahih Moslem, Book 40, Number 6809:

Abu Hurayra said that the messenger of God said, "Allah the Exalted and Glorious created Adam in His own image."

Another lie and fabrication narrated by Abu Hurayra, and accepted by Muslem in his collection.

(5) Adam was 60 arm's length high and 7 arm's length wide

Musnad Ahmad:

Abu Hurayra said, the prophet said, "God created Adam, 60 arm length high and seven arm length wide."

And in Sahih Muslem, Book 40, Number 6795 Adam is 60 cubits high!

(6) Women, dogs and donkey

Sahih Muslem, Book 4, Number 1032:

"The messenger said that a prayer is void if an ass, woman or black dog passes in front of the one praying."

What a gross insult to women, could these words really come from a prophet of God?

(7) Bad omen in the woman

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 30:

"Bad omen is in the woman, the horse and the home."

Another reflection of the prejudice against women that was a character of those who fabricated hadith. True Islam which is derived from the Quran gives full respect to the woman and never uses such descriptions.

(8) Distinction and no distinction among the messengers, contradiction

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 608:

Ibn Abbas said, the prophet said; "No one should say that I am better than Younus (Jonah) Ibn Matta."

Despite the above hadith, we find that the hadith books are full of stories that make prophet Muhammed more superior to all the other prophets and human beings. These hadith contradict the above hadith and also contradict the teachings of the Quran. The Quran contains a clear command to all believers not to make any distinction among God's messengers (2:285). Those who have been claiming to follow the hadith books have conveniently ignored the repeated hadith that call on the believers not to make distinction among the messengers.

CHAPTER SURAH BAQRAH 81 - 100

2:81 Indeed, whoever gains a sin, and is surrounded by his mistakes; those are the people of the Fire, in it they will abide.

2:82 And those who believe and do good works, they are the people of the Paradise, in it they will abide.

2:83  And We took the covenant of the Children of Israel: "You shall not serve except Allah, and do good to your parents, and regard the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and say kind things to the people, and hold the contact prayer(salat) , and contribute towards purification." But then you turned away, except for a few of you; you were objecting.

[Salaat = To follow closely, like a runner-up Musalli follows the winning horse Saabiq =Follow Allah commands closely.

Aqimussallat = Establish the System that facilitates the following of Divine Commands.

2:3.Zakaat= Divinely ordained Economic Order in which people work according to their capacity and get compensated according to their needs. It is the System in which all members of the society flourish and, with their basic needs having been met, they are able to rise up on the ladder of self-actualization. The cornerstone of this Economic Order: The Allah-given natural resources and wealth are the common property of all, and every individual willfully leaves for the welfare of others whatever is over and above his needs. The Central Authority will be responsible for administering and maintaining the Order of Zakaat.

2:219. They ask you about alcohol and gambling. Say: "In them is great harm, and a benefit for the people; but their harm is greater than their benefit." And they ask you how much they are to give, say: "The excess." It is thus that Allah clarifies for you the revelations that you may think.

22:41.Those whom, if We allow them to have authority in the land, they hold the contact prayer(salat), and they contribute towards purification, and they prohibit vice. And to Allah is the conclusion of all matters.

27:12. "And place your hand into your pocket; it will come out white with no blemish, one of nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; for they are a wicked people."

53:39. Every human being shall be responsible for his own works and compensated for his labor.

Unfortunately, under the influence of fabricated Hadith, most commentators of the Qur’an confuse Zakaat with Sadaqaat.

The latter means voluntary charity.

9:60. Indeed, the charities are for the poor, and the needy, and those who work to collect them, and those whose hearts have been united, and to free the slaves, and those in debt, and in the cause of Allah, and the wayfarer. A duty from Allah, and Allah is Knowledgeable, Wise.

It describes eight categories of the recipients of charity and not of Zakaat.  All commentators fail to notice the word Sadaqaat and somehow ‘misread’ the word Zakaat which is not there in that verse.

So powerful is the influence of blind following! The current 2.5% giving of one's wealth and the complex and contradictory details of Fiqh associated with it find no authority in the Qur’an.

One example is the flagrant disparity between the compulsory 'charity or poor-due' to be paid by a rich man who possesses gold versus a poor man who possesses some silver. The poor will pay charity on less than one tenth of what the wealthy has! Ihsan= An act of balance = Restoring symmetry and beauty = Social and individual equity = Selfless service = An act of equity.

Yateem = Orphan = Who is left alone in the society = Lonely = Without immediate family = Helpless = Derivatively, a widow.

Miskeen = The needy poor = One with no means to earn livelihood = The disabled = One whose life has stalled for any reason = Jobless = Truly bankrupt of finances = One whose running business has stalled.

17:23.And your Rabb decreed that you shall not serve except He, and do good to your parents. When one of them or both of them reach old age, do not say to them a word of disrespect nor shout at them, but say to them a kind saying.

29:8. And We instructed man to be good to his parents. But if they strive to make you set up partners with Me, then do not obey them. To Me are all your destinies, and I will inform you of what you used to do.

46:15. And We enjoined man to do good to his parents. His mother bore him with hardship, gave birth to him in hardship, and his bearing and weaning lasts thirty months. So that, when he has reached his independence, and he has reached forty years, he says: "My Rabb, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do good work that pleases You. And let my progeny be righteous. I have repented to You; I am of those who have submitted."

4:36. And serve Allah and do not set up anything with Him, and do good to the parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the neighbor who is a relative, and the neighbor nearby, and the friend nearby, and the wayfarer, and those maintained by your oaths. Allah does not love the arrogant, the boastful.

6:151. Say: "Come let me recite what your Rabb has made unlawful for you: that you should not set up anything with Him - and do good to your parents; and do not kill your children for fear of poverty, We provide for you and for them; and do not come near immorality, what is public of it and private; and do not take the life which Allah has made forbidden, except in justice. That is what He enjoined you that you may comprehend."

2:177. Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but pious is one who believes in Allah and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Book, and the prophets, and who gives money out of love to the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves; and who upholds the contact prayer(salat), and who contributes towards purification; and those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of adversity and hardship and when in despair. These are the ones who have been truthful, and these are the righteous.

2:215. They ask you what they should spend, say: "What you spend out of goodness should go to your family and the relatives and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer. And any good you do, Allah is fully aware of it."

17:26. And give the relative his due, and the poor, and the wayfarer; and do not waste excessively.]

2:84 And We have taken a covenant with you: "You shall not spill the blood of each other, nor expel each other from your homes." And you agreed to this while bearing witness.

2:85 But then here you are killing each other and expelling a group of you from their homes; you act towards them with evil and animosity. And if they come to you as prisoners, you ransom them while it was unlawful for you to expel them! Do you believe in part of the Book and disbelieve in part? The punishment for those among you who do so is humiliation in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be delivered to the most severe retribution. Allah is not unaware of what you all do.

2:86 These are the ones who have purchased this worldly life instead of the Hereafter. The retribution will not be reduced for them, nor will they be supported.

[Numerous verses underscore the point that the Law of Cause and Effect has no room for making amends in the Hereafter, therefore, the helplessness. Duniya = This world = Immediate gains = Short term benefits = Short-sightedness = Disregarding the Law of Cause and Effect = Forsaking the Future. Aakhirah = Hereafter = Life to come = Eternity = Long term = Far-sightedness = Future = Logical outcome = Tomorrow as built on today]

2:87 And We gave Musa the Book, and after him We sent the messengers. And We gave Isa, son of Maryam, the clear proofs, and We supported him with Ruh-il-Qudus. Is it that every time a messenger comes to you with what your souls do not desire, you become arrogant? A group of them you deny, and a group of them you kill!

[Also, you attempted to strike a deal with the Messengers to alter the revelations.

10:15. And when Our clear revelations were recited to them, those who do not wish to meet Us said: "Bring a Qur'an other than this, or change it!" Say: "It is not for me to change it of my own accord, I merely follow what is inspired to me. I fear, if I disobeyed my Rabb, the retribution of a great Day!"

11:113. And do not lean towards those who have wronged else you will incur the Fire; and you will not have besides Allah any allies, and you will not be victorious.

17:74. And if We had not made you stand firm, you were about to lean towards them a little bit.

68:9. They wish that you compromise, so they too can compromise.

Ruh-il-Qudus = Ruh-ul-Qudus = Ruh-il-Amin = Gibriel.

2:97.  Say: "Whoever is an enemy to Gibriel, then know that he has sent it down into your heart with the permission of Allah, authenticating what is with him, and a guide and good news for the believers."

2:253. Such messengers, We have preferred some over others; some of them talked to Allah, and He raised some of them in rank, and We gave Isa, son of Maryam, the clear proofs and We supported him with Ruh-il-Qudus. And had Allah wished, the people after them would not have fought after the proofs had come to them, but they disputed, some of them believed and some of them rejected. If Allah had wished they would not have fought, but Allah does what He pleases.

5:110. Allah said: "O Isa, son of Maryam, recall My blessings upon you and your mother, that I supported you with Ruh-il-Qudus; you spoke to the people in the cradle and middle-age; and I taught you the Book and the wisdom, and the Torah, and the Injeel; and you would create from clay the shape of a bird, then blow into it and it becomes a bird with My permission; and you would heal the blind and the leaper with My permission; and you would bring out the dead with My permission. And I have restrained the Children of Israel from you, that you came to them with proofs; but those who rejected among them said: 'This is clearly magic!'"

16:2. He sends down the angels with the Spirit by His command upon whom He wishes of His servants: "That you shall warn that there is no Allah except I, so be aware of Me."

16:102. Say: "Ruh-il-Qudus has brought it down from your Rabb with the truth, so that those who believe will be strengthened, and as a guidance and good news for those who have submitted."

26:193. It was sent down with Ruh-ul-Amin.

42:52. And thus, We inspired to you a revelation of Our command. You did not know what was the Book, nor what was faith. Yet, We made this a light to guide whoever We wish from among Our servants. Surely, you guide to a straight path.]

2:88 And they said: "Our hearts are sealed!" No, it is Allah has cursed them for their rejection, for very little do they believe.

[2:6. As for those who reject, whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.

La’nah = Curse = Deprivation of Allah grace = Allah rejection = Condemnation = Losing citizenship of the Islamic State = To be downgraded = Abasement = Lasting humiliation]

2:89 And when a Book came to them from Allah, authenticating what is with them; while before that they were mocking those who rejected; so when what they knew came to them, they rejected it! The curse of Allah be upon the rejecters.

[Kufr = Rejecting, denying, opposing, or concealing the truth = Ingratitude.

2:101.And when a messenger came to them from Allqh, authenticating what was with them, a group of those who had already received the Book placed the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know.

2:41. And believe in what I have sent down, authenticating what is with you, and do not be the first to disbelieve in it! And do not purchase with My revelations a cheap gain, and of Me you shall be aware.

7:157."Those who follow the Gentile messenger prophet whom they find written for them in the Torah and the Injeel; he orders them to kindness, and prohibits them from vice, and he makes lawful for them the good things, and he makes unlawful for them the evil things, and he removes their burden and the shackles that are upon them. So those who believe in him, and support him, and help him persevere, and follow the light that was sent down with him; these are the successful ones." ]

2:90 Miserable indeed is what they purchase with their souls, that they disbelieve in what Allah has sent down as a resentment that Allah would send down from His grace to whom He pleases of His servants; thus they have incurred wrath upon wrath. And the rejecters will have a humiliating retribution.*

[Ghadhab= Opposite of blessing = Bitter consequences = Logical results of defying Divine laws = Physical and mental destitution for defying God = Suffering loss = Incorrectly translated as anger or wrath in relation to Allah.  1:7. The path of those You have blessed, not of those who have incurred the wrath, nor the misguided.

2:61And you said: "O Musa, we will not be patient to one type of food, so call for us your Rabb that He may bring forth what the earth grows of its beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Would you trade that which is lowly with that which is good?" Descend Egypt, you will have in it what you have asked for. And they were stricken with humiliation and disgrace, and they remained under the wrath of Allah for they were disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and killing the prophets without right; this is for what they have disobeyed and transgressed.

Grudgingly: They cannot get over the fact that Allah has elected a non-Israelite Prophet.

2:97.Say: "Whoever is an enemy to Gibriel, then know that he has sent it down into your heart with the permission of Allah, authenticating what is with him, and a guide and good news for the believers."

2:100. Is it that each time they make a pledge, a group of them breaks it? Alas, most of them do not believe.

2:142. The foolish from among the people will say: "What has turned them away from the focal point that they were on?" Say: "To Allah the east and the west, He guides whomsoever He wishes to a straight path."

5:18. And the Jews and the Nazarenes said: "We are the children of Allah, and His loved ones." Say: "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" No, you are merely human beings which He has created. He forgives whom He pleases, and He punishes whom He pleases. And to Allah is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between, and to Him is the destiny.

7:157. "Those who follow the Gentile messenger prophet whom they find written for them in the Torah and the Injeell; he orders them to kindness, and prohibits them from vice, and he makes lawful for them the good things, and he makes unlawful for them the evil things, and he removes their burden and the shackles that are upon them. So those who believe in him, and support him, and help him persevere, and follow the light that was sent down with him; these are the successful ones." ]

2:91  And if it is said to them: "Believe in what Allah has sent down;" they say: "We believe only in what was sent down to us," and they reject what came after it, while it is the truth authenticating what is with them. Say: "Why then did you kill the prophets of God if you were believers?"

[2:101. And when a messenger came to them from Allah, authenticating what was with them, a group of those who had already received the Book placed the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know.

For Qatl,  2:54 And Moses said to his people: "O my people, you have wronged your souls by taking the calf, so repent to your Maker, and kill yourselves. That is better for you with your Maker, so He would forgive you. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."]

2:92.  And Moses had come to you with clear proofs, then you took the calf after him; you were wicked!

2:93 And We took your covenant, and raised the mount above you: "Take what We have given you with strength, and listen." They said: "We hear and disobey!" And they had consumed the calf inside their hearts by their disbelief. Say: "Miserable indeed is what your belief orders of you if you are believers!"

2:94 Say: "If the abode of the Hereafter has been set exclusively for you with Allah, to the exception of all other people, then you should wish for death if you are truthful!"

[2:80. And they said: "The Fire will not touch us except for a few number of days." Say: "Have you taken a pledge with Allah? If so, then Allah will not break His pledge. Or do you say about Allah what you do not know?"

2:211. Ask the Children of Israel how many clear signs did We give them? And whoever changes the grace of Allah after it has come to him, then Allah is Mighty in retribution.

11:7. He is the One who has created the heavens and the earth in six stages, and His Throne was upon the water; so as to test who from among you works the best. And when you say: "You will be resurrected after the death," those who have rejected say: "This is but clear magic!"

67:2. The One who has created death and life, that He may test you, which of you will do better works? He is the Noble, the Forgiving.

Live an open life in the society instead of your secluded enclaves.

33:26. And He also brought down those who helped support them from among the people of the Book from their secure positions, and He threw terror into their hearts. Some of them you killed, and some you took captive.

59:2. He is the One who drove out those who disbelieved among the people of the Book from their homes at the very first mobilization. You never thought that they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah. But then Allah came to them from where they did not expect, and He cast terror into their hearts. They destroyed their homes with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn from this, O you who possess vision.

A nation that knows not how to die, knows not how to live]

2:95 They will never wish for it because of what their hands have delivered; and Allah is aware of the wicked.

[Zulm in 2:35. And We said: "O Adam, reside you and your mate in the paradise, and eat from it bountifully as you both wish, and do not come near this tree, else you will be of those who have wronged."  and in Preface]

2:96 And you will find them the most obsessive people regarding longevity; even more than the polytheists; each one of them wishes that he could live a thousand years. It will not change for him the retribution even if he lived so long, Allah is watchful over what you do.

2:97 Say: "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel, then know that he has sent it down into your heart with the permission of Allah, authenticating what is with him, and a guide and good news for the believers."[2:101]

2:98 "Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels, and His messengers, and Gibriel, and Michael, then so Allah is the enemy to the disbelievers."

[2:87.And We gave Moses the Book, and after him We sent the messengers. And We gave Jesus, son of Mary, the clear proofs, and We supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it that every time a messenger comes to you with what your souls do not desire, you become arrogant? A group of them you deny, and a group of them you kill!

2:253. Such messengers, We have preferred some over others; some of them talked to Allah, and He raised some of them in rank, and We gave Jesus, son of Mary, the clear proofs and We supported him with the Holy Spirit. And had Allah wished, the people after them would not have fought after the proofs had come to them, but they disputed, some of them believed and some of them rejected. If Allah had wished they would not have fought, but Allah does what He pleases.

5:110. Allah said: "O Jesus, son of Mary, recall My blessings upon you and your mother, that I supported you with the Holy Spirit; you spoke to the people in the cradle and middle-age; and I taught you the Book and the wisdom, and the Torah, and the Injeel; and you would create from clay the shape of a bird, then blow into it and it becomes a bird with My permission; and you would heal the blind and the leaper with My permission; and you would bring out the dead with My permission. And I have restrained the Children of Israel from you, that you came to them with proofs; but those who rejected among them said: 'This is clearly magic!'"

16:102. Say: "The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Rabb with the truth, so that those who believe will be strengthened, and as a guidance and good news for those who have submitted."

26:193.  It was sent down with the trusted Spirit.

The Divine law intervenes between obstinate rejection and true Success. ‘Adu and its derivatives = Enemy = Wedge = Opponent = Divider = Bearer of grudge. It must be noted that the Qur’anic terminology carries various shades of meanings according to the context, and whether the terms are referring to humans or to the Creator]

2:99 We have sent down to you clear revelations; only the wicked would disbelieve in them.

2:100 Is it that each time they make a pledge, a group of them breaks it? Alas, most of them do not believe.

CHAPTER SURAH BAQRAH 61- 80

2:61.  And you said: "O Moses, we will not be patient to one type of food, so call for us your Rabb that He may bring forth what the earth grows of its beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Would you trade that which is lowly with that which is good?" Descend Egypt, you will have in it what you have asked for. And they were stricken with humiliation and disgrace, and they remained under the wrath of Allah for they were disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and killing the prophets without right; this is for what they have disobeyed and transgressed.*

2:62. Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day and does works that benefit humanity; they will have their recompense with their Rabb, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.

2:63. And We took your covenant, and raised the mount above you: "Take what We have given you with strength, and remember what is in it that you may be righteous."

2:64. Then you turned away after this. And had it not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been of the losers.

2:65. You have come to know who it was among you that transgressed the Sabbath, We said to them: "Be you held in contempt like apes!"

[ 4:154.And We raised the mount above them by the covenant they took, and We said to them: "Enter the passageway by crouching." And We said to them: "Do not transgress the Sabbath;" and We took from them a solemn covenant.

7:163. And ask them about the town which was by the sea, after they had transgressed the Sabbath; their fish would come to them openly on the day of their Sabbath, and when they are not in Sabbath, they do not come to them! It is such that We afflicted them for what wickedness they were in.

16:124. Indeed, the Sabbath was only decreed for those who had disputed in it, and your Lord will judge between them for that in which they had disputed.

Persistent indiscipline is more befitting of an apish, rather than human mentality.

4:47. O you who have received the Book, believe in what We have sent down authenticating what is with you, before We cast down faces and turn them on their backs or curse them as the people of the Sabbath were cursed. And the will of God is always done.

4:154. And We raised the mount above them by the covenant they took, and We said to them: "Enter the passageway by crouching." And We said to them: "Do not transgress the Sabbath;" and We took from them a solemn covenant.

5:60. Say: "Shall I inform you of worse than this as a punishment from Allah? Those whom Allah cursed and became angry at them, and He made from them apes and pigs and servants of evil. Those have a worse place and are more astray from the right path."

 NOTE:

Strangely enough, some ancient, and even modern commentators like Maududi, maintain that they were physically transformed into apes!]

2:66. So it was that We made it into an example for what had happened in it and also what had passed, and a reminder to the righteous.[Wa’z = Admonition that softens the hearts]

2:67.  And Moses said to his people: "Allah orders you to slaughter a heifer." They said: "Do you mock us?" He said: "I seek refuge with Allah that I not be of the ignorant ones."

[Slaughter a cow to get rid of the Pharaoh’s pagan inclinations you carry in your hearts. That is what prompted you to worship the golden calf.

2:54.And Moses said to his people: "O my people, you have wronged your souls by taking the calf, so repent to your Maker, and kill yourselves. That is better for you with your Maker, so He would forgive you. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

7:152. Those who took the calf will be dealt with a wrath from their Rabb and a humiliation in this worldly life. It is such that We punish the fabricators.]

2:68. They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us that He may clarify which it is." He said: "He says it is a heifer neither too old nor too young, an age between that. So now do as you are commanded."

2:69.  They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us that He may clarify what color it is." He said: "He says it is a yellow heifer with a strong color, pleasing to those who see it."

2:70 They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us that He may clarify which one it is, for the heifers all look alike to us and we will, Allah willing, be guided."

2:71.  He said: "He says it is a heifer which was never subjugated to plough the land, or water the crops, free from any blemish." They said: "Now you have come with the truth." And they slaughtered it, though they had nearly not done so.

[They still adored cow-worship and the golden calf.*

2:93. And We took your covenant, and raised the mount above you: "Take what We have given you with strength, and listen." They said: "We hear and disobey!" And they had consumed the calf inside their hearts by their disbelief. Say: "Miserable indeed is what your belief orders of you if you are believers!"

5:101. O you who believe, do not ask about things which, if clarified, would harm you - and if you ask about them with the Qur'an being revealed, then they will become clear to you. Allah pardons for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Compassionate.]

2:72.  And you had murdered a person, then disputed in the matter; Allah was to bring out what you were keeping secret.

2:73. We said: "Strike him with parts from it." It is thus that Allah brings the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you may comprehend.

2:74. Then your hearts became hardened after that, they became like stone or even harder; but even from stone there are rivers that burst forth, and from them are those that crack so that the water comes forth, and from them are what descends from concern towards Allah; and Allah is not unaware of what you do.

2:75. Did you expect that they would believe with you, when a group of them had heard the words of Allah then altered them knowingly after having understood?

2:76. And when they come across those who believe, they say: "We believe!" And when they are alone with each other they say: "Why do you inform them of what Allah has said to us? Then they would use it in argument against us at your Rabb. Do you not comprehend?"

2:77. Do they not know that Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare?

2:78. And among them are Gentiles who do not know the Book EXCEPT BY HEARSAY, and they only conjecture.

2:79.  So woe to those who write the Book with their hands then say: "This is from Allah," so that they can purchase with it a cheap price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they gained.

2:80.  And they said: "The Fire will not touch us except for a few number of days." Say: "Have you taken a pledge with Allah? If so, then Allah will not break His pledge. Or do you say about Allah what you do not know?

CHAPTER 2 SURAH BAQRAH 49 - 60

2:49 And We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, they were afflicting you with the worst punishment; they used to slaughter your children, and rape your women. In that was a great test from your Rabb.

[Abna = Sons = Strong ones.

Nisaa = Females = Women = Weak ones. Yastahyoon carries the connotation of ‘letting live’ as well as ‘in shame’.

Yasoomoon = Selecting, choosing.

This is what a tyrannical system does.

7:141,  And when We saved you from (the) people (of) Firaun who were afflicting you (with) worst (of) torment, they were killing your sons and letting live your women. And in that (was) a trial from your Rabb great.

27:34,  She said, "Indeed, the kings, when they enter a town they ruin it and make (the) most honorable (of) its people (the) lowest. And thus they do.

28:4,  Indeed, Firaun exalted himself in the land and made its people (into) sects, oppressing a group among them, slaughtering their sons and letting live their women. Indeed, he was of the corrupters.

40:25. Then when he brought to them the truth from Us they said, "Kill (the) sons (of) those who believe with him, and let live their women." And not (is the) plot (of) the disbelievers but in error.

Balaaun: Turn of events. Wa fi zalikum points to saving mentioned early in the verse]

2:50 And We parted the sea for you, thus We saved you and drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were watching.

[When you faithfully followed Moses, We rescued you through a safe passage in the Red Sea. You crossed over through the Sea of Reeds at low tide, as if it were parted. This Exodus brought you to the safety of Sinai from the persecution in Egypt.

7:138. And We let the Children of Israel cross the sea, then they came upon a people who were devoted to statues made for them; they said: "O Moses, make for us a Allah like they have gods?" He said: "You are an ignorant people!"

10:90. And We helped the Children of Israel cross the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers followed them out of hatred and animosity. But when he was certain to drown, he said: "I believe that there is no god except the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of those who have submitted."

20:77. And We inspired to Moses: "Take My servants out, and strike for them a path through the sea that is dry. You shall not fear being overtaken, nor be concerned."

26:63. So We inspired to Moses: "Strike the sea with your staff." So it split into two, each side like a great mountain.

44:24. And cross the sea quickly; their troops will be drowned.]

2:51 And We appointed a meeting time for Moses of forty nights, but then you took the calf after him while you were wicked.

[ 7:142. And We set a meeting for Moses in thirty nights, and We complemented them with ten, so the appointed time of his Lord was set at forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron: "Be my successor with my people and be upright, and do not follow the path of the corrupters."

Zulm = Displace something from its rightful place = Relegating the truth = Hurting someone or one’s own self = Violation of human rights = Live in darkness = Oppression = Diminishing the due measure = Replace good with evil = Relegate the truth = Transgression = Oppression = Violation of human rights = Wrongdoing.

2:35. And We said: "O Adam, reside you and your mate in the paradise, and eat from it bountifully as you both wish, and do not come near this tree, else you will be of those who have wronged."]

2:52 Then We forgave you after that, perhaps you would be thankful.

[Shukr = Thankfulness = Gratitude in word and action = Bring Divine bounties to the most fruitful use = Sharing one's wealth and resources with fellow humans = Opposite of Kufr when the context demands it, ingratitude.]

2:53.  And We gave Moses the Book and the criterion, perhaps you would be guided.

[Hudan = Hidayah = Guidance = Right guidance = A lighted road = Journey with prominent landmarks = A sincere gift = A high rock of identification in the sea = Lighthouse = A fixed sign in the desert.]

2:54.  And Moses said to his people: "O my people, you have wronged your souls by taking the calf, so repent to your Maker, and kill yourselves. That is better for you with your Maker, so He would forgive you. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

[7:148.And the people of Moses, in his absence, made from their ornaments a sculpture of a calf that emitted a cry. Did they not see that it could not speak to them, nor guide them to any way? They took it and they were wicked.

12:53. "And I do not make myself free of blame, for the soul is inclined to sin, except that which my Rabb has mercy upon. My Rabb is Forgiving, Merciful."

Baari = The Maker = Initiator = Originator = The Original Designer.

Unfortunately, blindly following the account of Exodus to say in all humility, correctly described in QXP 32:26, most ancient and modern commentators of the Qur’an, including Maududi of the 20th century, stumble on this verse as well. They maintain that the Israelites in a matter of hours killed one another randomly up to 70,000 men!

Others claim that only the culprits were killed! All this confusion arises for giving literal meaning to Qatl and for blindly following some Biblical accounts and fabricated Hadith.

This is all the more amazing since the same verse is showing Pardon from Allah to the Israelites for their worshiping of the calf.

Qatl = Subdue = Bring low = Humiliate = Make humble = Killing the inflated or rebellious Ego = Qatl also means murder, slaying, fighting, but in different contexts.

2:55 And you said: "O Moses, we will not believe you until we see Allah openly!" So the lightning strike took you while you were still staring.

[Your minds were still programmed with the primitive ways of the "Age of Worship" when humans could only appreciate the tangible. At that level of intellect, humans come to fear natural phenomena. Thus, when you saw the lightning thunder you almost fell dead in fright.

7:155. And Moses selected from his people seventy men for Our appointed time; so when the earthquake seized them, he said: "My Rabb, if You wished You could have destroyed them before this, and me as well. Will you destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? It is all Your test, You misguide with it whom You please and You guide with it whom You please. You are our Supporter, so forgive us and have mercy on us; You are the Best Forgiver."]

2:56 Then We resurrected you after your death that you may be thankful.

2:57 And We shaded you with clouds, and sent down to you manna and quails: "Eat from the goodness of the provisions We have provided you." They did not wrong Us, but it was their souls that they wronged.

[Zall = Shade. Ghamam = Clouds. Being shaded with clouds in the desert is a blessing, hence my rendition as grace.

Manna-wus-Salwa = Allah sustenance that reaches all members of the community equitably.

Literally, it also means delicious fruit Manna and fowl or quail meat Salwa.

Tayyab = Decent and clean = Of one's liking = Not forbidden in the Qur’an = Good for mind and body = Pleasant]

2:58 And We said: "Enter this town, and eat from it as you wish bountifully. And enter the passage way by crouching, and say: "Our load is removed," so that your wrong doings will be forgiven, and We will increase for the good doers."

[‘This town’ = Can’aan = The land of Palestine.

5:21.  O my people! Enter the scared land which Allah has promised you; but do not turn back for then you will be lost!"

7:161. And they were told: "Reside in this town and eat from it as you please, and say: "Our load is removed," and enter the passage way by crouching, We will forgive for you your wrong doings, and We will increase for the good doers."]

2:59 But the wicked altered what was said to them to a different saying, thus We sent down upon the wicked an affliction from the heavens for what wickedness they were in.

[Rijz = Weak, shaky legs = Loss of determination and resolve = Losing individual and collective strength = Becoming lazy = Replacing action with word.

7:134. And when the affliction befell them, they said: "O Moses, call on your Rabb for what He has pledged with you, that if you remove this affliction from us, then we will believe in you and we will send with you the Children of Israel."

7:162. Those who were transgressors among them altered what was said to them with something different; so We sent to them an affliction from the heaven for what transgression they were in.

29:34. "We will send down upon the people of this town an affliction from the heaven for what wickedness they were in."

Fisq= Drifting away from the commands or from discipline = ‘Sin’ = Disregarding moral values. Divinely determined consequences = Divine Law of Requital. You became shaky in your resolve losing discipline and courage, therefore, the Promised Land became forbidden to you for forty years.

2:61.And you said: "O Moses, we will not be patient to one type of food, so call for us your Rabb that He may bring forth what the earth grows of its beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Would you trade that which is lowly with that which is good?" Descend Egypt, you will have in it what you have asked for. And they were stricken with humiliation and disgrace, and they remained under the wrath of Allah for they were disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and killing the prophets without right; this is for what they have disobeyed and transgressed.

3:21.Those who reject the revelations of Allah and kill the prophets without right, and kill those who order justice from among the people; inform them of a painful retribution.

5:22.They said: "O Moses, in it are a mighty people, and we will not enter it until they leave from it. So when they leave from it, then we will enter."]

2:60.  And Moses was seeking water for his people, so We said: "Strike the stone with your staff." Thus twelve springs exploded out of it; each people then knew from where to drink. "Eat and drink from the provisions of Allah, and do not roam the earth as corrupters."

[Mischief = Creating disruption and chaos in the land for selfish gains. ‘Asa = Staff = Force = Conviction = Support = A united community holding on to a mission as the five fingers hold on to a cane. Moses was guided to rocks under which were hidden twelve springs of water ready to gush forth. With the strength of his conviction and with the help of his companions, Moses unclogged those springs.

7:160.  And We separated them into twelve patriarch nations; and We inspired Moses when his people wanted to drink: "Strike the stone with your staff," thus twelve springs burst out of it. Each people then knew from where to drink. And We shaded them with clouds and We sent down to them manna and quail: "Eat from the good things that We have provided for you." They did not wrong Us, but it was their souls that they wronged.]
