SURAH AL AARAF 1 - 100

QURAN TAFSIR ( QURAN AS IT EXPLAIN)

In the Name of ALLAH, The Moet Gracious, The Most Merciful.

7:1. Alif-Laam-Meem-Saad.

*7:2  The Book that has been sent down to you, so let there not be any burden in your Heart from it, that you may warn with it; and a reminder to the believers.*

[Sadr = Chest = Breast = Heart. Haraj = Difficulty = Burden = Doubt = Hardship = Loss = Tightness in chest]*

*7:3.  Follow what was sent down to you from your Rabb, and do not follow besides Him any supporters. How seldom do you keep this in mind!*

*[Awliya = Protecting friends = Allies = Masters]*

*7:4.  And how many a town have We destroyed; for Our punishment came to them by night,, or while they slept for their afternoon rest.*

*7:5. Then their only saying when Our punishment came to them, but they said, “We were unjust, and used to oppress the vulnerable.”*

7:6. We will certainly question those to whom Our Messengers were sent, and certainly We will question the Messengers.*

7:7. We will tell to them with knowledge; We were not absent.*

[9:105.And say: ""Act, and Allah will see your work and His messenger and the believers. And you will be sent back to Knower of the unseen and the seen, and Allah will inform you of what you did." ]*

*7:8.  And the balance on that Day will be the truth. So, those whose weights are heavy on the balance, those are the successful ones.*

*7:9. And whoever has light weights, then these are the ones who lost their souls for what they transgressed of Our revelations.(with manmade dogmas.)

*7:10. And We granted you dominion on the earth, and made for you in it a habitat; little do you give thanks!.*

[Being grateful is not only verbal thanks. It involves sharing Allah bounties with fellow humans and other creation.*

16:114. So eat from what Allah has provided you, that which is good and lawful, and be thankful for the blessing of Allah, if it is indeed Allah whom you serve.*

31:12. And We had given Luqmaan the wisdom: "You shall be thankful to Allah, and whoever is thankful is being thankful for his own good. As for whoever rejects, then Allah is Rich, Praiseworthy."]*

*7:11. And We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the angels: "Submit to Adam;" so they yielded except for Satan, he was not of those who submitted.*

*[23:13. Subsequently, we reproduced him from a tiny drop, that is placed into a well protected lodging.,]*

*7:12. He said, "What has prevented you from submitting when I have ordered you?" He said, "I am better than him, You created me from fire and created him from clay!".*

*[49:13. O people, We created you from a male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Surely, the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous. Allah is Knowledgeable, All knower.]*

*7:13. He said: "Descend from it, for it is not for you to be arrogant here; depart, for you are disgraced."*

*7:14. He (Iblees) said, "Give me respite till the Day they are raised up.”*

*7:15. Allah said, "Be among those who are given respite.”*

*7:16. Iblees said, "Since You have willed that I go astray, I will lurk in ambush for them in Your straight path.”*

*7:17. "Then I will come to them from between their hands, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left; and You will find most of them unthankful."*

*7:18. Allah said: "Get out from this, you are despised and banished. As for those of them who follow you, I will fill Hell with you all!"*

[Jahannam = Hell = Fire = Hebrew Gehenna = Destruction of the ‘self’ in this life and the Hereafter for succumbing to Satan, the selfish desires.]*

*7:19. "And O Adam, reside you and your mate in the paradise, and eat from it as you both wish, and do not come near this tree, else you will be of those who have wronged."*

[Contrary to the popular beliefs that the forbidden Tree was the tree of knowledge, fruit of this plant and that plant, or of sexual charms, it refers to humanity dividing itself like the branches of a tree.*

2:35.And We said: "O Adam, reside you and your mate in the paradise, and eat from it bountifully as you both wish, and do not come near this tree, else you will be of those who have wronged."*

2:213. The people used to be one nation, then Allah sent the prophets as bearers of good news and warners, and He sent down with them the Book with the truth so that they may judge between the people in what they were disputing. But after receiving the clarity, the people disputed in it due to animosity between them. And Allah guided those who believed with His permission regarding what they disputed in of the truth. And Allah guides whoever He wishes to a straight path him who wills to be guided.*

20:120. But the devil whispered to him, he said: "O Adam, shall I lead you to the tree of immortality and a kingdom which will not waste away?"]

*7:20. But the devil whispered to them, to reveal to them what was not apparent to them of their bodies; and he said: "Your Rabb did not prohibit you from this tree except that you would become angels, or you would be immortals."*

[The selfish desires of humans prompted them to think about their own children rather than the collective good. That would, in a way, give them power and immortality.]*

*7:21.And Satan Swore to both of them( man and woman),, “I am a sincere advisor to you.”

*7:22. So Satan misled both of them with deception; so when they tasted the tree, their bodies became apparent both of them, and they rushed to cover themselves with the leaves of the paradise; and their Rabb called both of them: "Did I not prohibit both of you from that tree, and i say both of  you that the shaitaan is your clear enemy?"*

*7:23. Both of them  said: "Our Rabb, we have wronged ourselves and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, surely we will be of the losers!"*

[7:16. Iblees said, "Since You have willed that I go astray, I will lurk in ambush for them in Your straight path.”]*

*7:24. Allah said: "Get down; some of you, the  enemies to one another; and on the earth you will have residence and  livelihood for a time."*

[10:19. The people were but one nation, then they differed. And had it not been for a previous command from your Rabb, the matter would have been immediately judged between them for what they differed.*

49:13. O people, We created you from a male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another.*

*Surely, the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous.Allah is Knowledgeable, Expert.]*

*7:25. Allay said: "In it you will live and in it you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."*

[2:213. And Allah guides whoever He wishes to a straight path him who wills to be guided.]*

*7:26. O Children of Adam, We have sent down for you garments to cover your shame,, as well as ornaments; but the clothing of the righteousness that is the best. That is from the  signs of Allah, so they may take remember.*

*7:27. O Children of Adam, do not let the shaitaan afflict you as he evicted your parents from the paradise; he removes from them their garments to show them their bodies. He and his tribe see you from where you do not see them. We have made the shaitaan as friends for those who do not believe.*

*7:28. And if they commit immorality, they say: "We found our fathers doing such, and Allah ordered us to it." Say: "Allahdoes not order immorality! Do you say about Allah what you do not know?"*

*7:29. Say: "My Rabb orders justice, and  setup yours faces at every masjid, and that you call on Him, while being faithful to Allah in the (deen of Allah) system; as He initiated you, so you will return."*

*7:30. A group He has guided and a group have deserved straying; that is because they have taken the shaitaan as friends besides Allah; and they think they are guided!*

[7:3. Follow what was sent down to you from your Rabb, and do not follow besides Him any supporters. How seldom do you keep this in mind!*

*22:13.He calls on those who harm him more than they benefit him. What a miserable patron, and what a miserable companion]*

*7:31.O Children of Adam, dress nicely at every masjid, and eat and drink Enjoy Allah bounties, but do not commit excesses. Allah does not love the wasters.*

*7:32.  Say: "Who has made unlawful the nice things that Allah has brought forth for His servants and the good things of  sustenance?" Say: "They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection." It is such that We explain the revelations for those who make use of what they learn.*

[17:18-20. And whoever seeks the Hereafter and strives for it as it deserves, and is a believing person, then to those what they have sought is given in thanks.*

*For both groups We will bestow from the bounty of your Rabb. And the bounty of your Rabb is never restricted.*

*20:117-123.  So We said: "O Adam, this is an enemy to you and your wife. So do not let him take both of you out from the paradise, so that you will have hardship."*

*"There you will not go hungry nor need clothes."*

*"There you will not suffer from  thirsty and not exposed to the sun' s heat."*

*But the shaitaan whispered to him, he said: "O Adam, shall I lead you to the tree of immortality and a kingdom which will not waste away?"*

*So they both ate from it, and their bodies became apparent to them, and they began to place leaves on themselves from the paradise. Adam had disobeyed his Rabb, and fell into error.*

*Then his Rabb recalled him, and turned to Allah, and guided.*

Allah said : "Go down from this, all of you, for you are enemies to one another. So, when My guidance comes to you, then, whoever follows My guidance, he will not go astray and not suffer."]

*7:33.  Say: "My Rabb has made unlawful shameful deeds; what is open or secret and private; and sin, and aggression without cause, and that you set up partners with Allah that which Allah has never authorized, and that you say about Allah what you do not know."*

*7:34. And for every nation will be fixed time; when their time is reached, they will not delay by an hour and not seek to advance it.*

*7:35.  O Children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among yourselves and tell to you My verses; then for those who are aware, and those who will live upright and mend their ways, there will be no fear over them and not will they grieve.*

*7:36. As for those who deny Our verses, and become arrogant towards them; then these are the companions of the Fire, in it they will abide forever".*

*7:37. Who is more unjust than he who invents lies about Allah , or denies Allah verses? These will receive their recompense from the book; so that when Our messengers come to terminate their lives, they will say: "Where are those whom you used to call on besides Allah?" They said: "They have abandoned us!" And they bore witness upon themselves that they were disbelievers.*

*7:38.  Allah  will say : "Enter with the multitude of nations before you from mankind and Jinn to the Fire!" Every later nation will blame the  earlier nation, until they are all gathered inside it; then the last of them says to the first: "Our Rabb, these are the ones who have misguided us, so give them double  punishment of the Fire!" Allah will say : "Each will receive double, but you do not know."*

[The first nation violated the laws and misled others, and the second nation was guilty of blind following and misleading their successors]*

*7:39. And will say the first nation to the  last nation: "You have no preference over us, so taste the punishment for what you have earned!"*

*7:40. Those who have denied Our verses, and became arrogant towards them, the gates of the heavens will not open for them, nor will they enter the Paradise until the camel passes through the eye of a needle. It is such that We recompense the criminals.*

*7:41.Hell is their bed, and from over them covering. It is thus We recompense the wrongdoers.*

*7:42. As for those who believe and do good; We do not burden any soul except with what it can bear; those are the dwellers of the Paradise, in it they will abide forever.*

[The Paradise of people’s own making will never be lost. It will be their heritage in the life to come.*

*2:25. And give good news to those who believe and do good works that they will have estates with rivers flowing beneath them. Every time they receive a provision of its fruit, they say: "This is what we have been provisioned before," and they are given its likeness. And there they will have pure mates, and in it they will abide.*

*3:133. And race towards forgiveness from your Rabb and a Paradise whose width encompasses the width of the heavens and of the earth; it has been prepared for the righteous.*

*55: 45-47. So which of the favors of your Rabb will you deny?*

*And for he who feared the station of his Rabb, there will be two gardens.*

So which of the favors of your Rabv will you deny?]*

*7:43. And We will remove all negative emotions from their heart,  the rivers will flow beneath them; and they will say: "All the Praise is for Allah who has guided us to this, and we would not have been guided unless Allah guided us. The messengers of our Rabb had come with the truth." And it was called to them: "This is the Paradise; you have inherited it for what you have done."*

*7:44. The dwellers of the Paradise(jannat) we called the dwellers of the Fire(nar): "We have found what our Rabb promised us to be true; did you find what your Rabb promised to be true?" They said: "Indeed!" Then a caller announced between them: "The curse of Allah is on the wrongdoers."*

*7:45. "The ones who repel from the path of Allah, and sought to make it crooked; and regarding the Hereafter they were rejecters."*

*7:46. And between them is a barrier, and on the elevated platform are men who recognized others by their features. And they called out to the dwellers of the Paradise: "Peace be upon you!" They have not yet entered it, but they are hope.*

[2:143. And as such, We have made you a balanced nation so that you may be witness over the people, and that the messenger may be witness over you. And We did not make the Qiblah that you became on except to distinguish who follows the messenger from those who will turn on their heels. It was a great thing indeed except for those whom Allah  had guided; Allah was not to waste your belief. Allah is Merciful and Compassionate over the people.*

*4:41. How is it then when We bring forth from every nation a witness, and bring you as a witness over these?*

*56:10-11. And those foremost, who will be from those foremost?*

*They will be the ones who are brought near.]*

*7:47. And when their eyes are turned towards the companions of the Fire, they say: "Our Rabb, do not place us with the wrongdoers people!"*

*7:48. And the people standing on the elevated platform called on men they recognize another group by their appearance,  and say to them : "How good did your large number do for you, or what you were arrogant for?".*

[Jam’ukum = Your great numbers = Your multitude = Your hoardings = What you have amassed]*

*7:49."Were these not the ones whom you swore Allah would not grant them of His mercy?" Enter the Paradise, there is no fear for you nor will you grieve.*

*7:50. And the dwellers of the Fire called on the dwellers of the Paradise: "Give us some water, or what Allah has provided for you?" They said: "Allah has made it forbidden both to the rejecters of Allah laws."*

*7:51.The ones who took their (Deen) system for distraction and play, and were preoccupied with this worldly life. Today We forget them as they forgot their meeting on this Day, and they reject Our verses.*

[6:70. Leave alone those who take their deen for play and diversion and whom the life of this world has deceived, and admonish with it, lest any soul should perish because of what it has earned: It shall not have any guardian besides Allah, nor any intercessor; and though it should offer every kind of ransom, it shall not be accepted from it. They are the ones who perish because of what they have earned; they shall have boiling water for drink and a painful punishment because of what they used to disbelieve ]*

*7:52.And We had come to them with a Book which We have detailed with knowledge; a guidance and a mercy to those who believe.*

*7:53.Are they waiting for what it says to come true? On the day it comes true, those who previously forgot it will say: "The messengers of our Rabb had come with the truth! Are there any intercessors to intercede for us? Or can we be sent back and we will work differently than what we did?" They have lost their souls and He has gone astray from them. What they used to fabricate has forsaken them.*

*7:54. Your Rabb is Allah who has created the heavens and the earth in six  stages/eras, then He settled upon the Throne.* *The night runs away from the day, which seeks it continually; and the sun and the moon and the stars are disposed by Allah command;*

[All creation and command Belong to Allah, The Rabb of the worlds.

10:3. Your Lord is God who has created the heavens and the earth in six days, then He settled upon the Throne; Allah manages all affairs. There is no intercessor except after Allah permission. Such is Allah your Rabb, so serve Allah. Would you not remember?

13:2.It is Allah who raised the heavens without any pillars that you see, and then presided over the Throne. Allah disposed the sun and the moon, each moving for a specified term. Allah  directs the command, [and] elaborates the signs that you may be certain of encountering your Rabb.*

Six Stages or Eras: 7:54.*

10:3.  Indeed your Rabb is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six eras, and then settled on the Throne, directing the command. There is no intercessor, except by His leave. That is Allah, your Rabb! So worship Him. Will you not then take admonition.*

11:7.  It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six eras —and His Throne was [then] upon the waters— that Allah may test you [to see] which of you is best in conduct. Yet if you say, ‘You will indeed be raised up after death,’ the faithless will surely say, ‘This is nothing but plain magic.’*

25:59.He, who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six eras, and then settled on the Throne, the All-beneficent; so ask someone who is well aware about Him.*

50:38.  Certainly We created the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them, in six eras, and any fatigue did not touch Us.*

57:4. It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six eras; then settled on the Throne. He knows whatever enters the earth and whatever emerges from it and whatever descends from the sky and whatever ascends to it, and He is with you wherever you may be, and Allah sees best what you do.*

41:10. He set in it firm mountains [rising] above it, and blessed it and ordained therein its [various] means of sustenance in four stages, alike for all the seekers [of the means of sustenance]

*7:55. Call upon your Rabb in humility and in the secrecy of your hearts. Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.*

*7:56. And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation; and call upon Allah with  fear and hope. Surely the mercy of Allah is near for gooddoers.*

*7:57. He is the One who sends the winds as good news before Allah mercy; so when it carries a heavy cloud, We drive it to a dead land, and We send down the water with it and We bring forth fruits of all kinds. It is thus that We will bring out the dead, so that you may remember.*

*7:58. And the good land, its vegetarian comes out by the permission of its Rabb. And for the one that is bad, it does not bring forth except very little. It is such that We explain our signs for a people who are grateful.*

*7:59. We had sent Nuh to his people, so he said: "Oh My people, serve Allah, you have no god besides Allah. I am afraid of the punishment of a great Day upon you!".*

[The Qur’an gives a hint that Nuh's people had received other Messengers as well. 26:105. The people of Nuh denied the messengers.'The people of Nuh too denied the Messengers.]

*7:60. The leaders of his people said: "We see that you are clearly misguided."*

*7:61. He said: "My people, I am not misguided, but I am a messenger from the Rabb of the worlds."*

*7:62. "I deliver to you the messages of my Rabb, and I advise you, and I know from Allah what you do not know."*

*7:63. "Are you surprised that a reminder has come to you from your Rabb through a man from among you to warn you, that you may be righteous(against evil), and that you may receive mercy?"*

*7:64. They denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship, and We drowned those who denied (rejected) Our verses; Indeed they were a blind people.*

*7:65. And to 'Aad We sent their brother Hud, he said: "O My people, serve Allah, you have no god besides Allah. Then Will you not be righteous(against evil) ?"*

*7:66. The leaders who rejected from among his people said: "We see you in foolishness, and we think you are one of the liars".*

*7:67. He said: "Oh My people, there is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Rabb of the worlds."*

*7:68. "To deliver to you the messages of my Rabb, and to you I am a trustworthy advisor."*

*7:69. "Are you surprised that a reminder has come to you from your Rabb through a man from among you to warn you? And remember that He made you successors after the people of Nuh, and He increased you in status. So remember the grace of Allah, so that you may succeed."*

*7:70. They said: "Have you come to us to serve Allah alone and abandon what our forefathers had served? Bring us what you promise if you are of the truthful ones!"*

*7:71.He said: "A affliction and wrath shall befall you from your Rabb. Do you argue with me about names which you have invented - you and your forefathers have created with no authority being sent down by Allah? Wait then, Indeed I am with you of the ones who wait."*

*[Those who follow the teachings of Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Maja, Ibn Hanbal, Tirmizi, Abu Dawud, Imam Azam, Imam Shafi, Imam Yusuf, Imam Rabbani, Abdulqadir Gaylani, Naqshibendi, Gazzali, Said Nursi, and many more, besides the Quran are addressees of this verse.

53:23. These are but names that you made up, you and your forefathers. Allah never authorized such. They only follow conjecture, and personal desire, while the guidance has come to them from their Rabb.]*

*7:72. We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We destroyed the remnant of those who rejected Our revelations, and they were not believers.*

*7:73. And to Thamud, We sent their brother Saleh, he said: "My people, serve Allah, you have no god besides Allah; clear proof has come to you from your Rabb, this is the shecamel of Allah, in her you have a sign, so leave her to eat in Allah earth, and do not harm her, else the painful retribution will take you."*

*7:74. "And remember that He made you successors after 'Aad, and He established you in the land, so that you make palaces on its plains, and you carve homes in the mountains. So remember the grace of Allah, and do not go about spreading corruption in the land."*

*7:75. The leaders who were arrogant from among his people said to those who were weak and believed from among them: "How do you know that Saleh was sent from his Rabb?" They said: "It is in that which he has been sent that we believe."*

*7:76. Those who were arrogant said: " Surely  we,  In that which you believe in it (are) disbelievers!"*

*7:77. They thus killed the shecamel and defied the command of their Rabb, and they said: "O Saleh, bring us what you promised us if you are of the messengers!"*

*7:78. The earthquake so seized them, ans they became lifeless in their homes.*

*7:79. Thus he turned away from them, and said: "My people, I have delivered to you the message of my Rabb and  advised you to ; but you do not like the advisers."*

*7:80. And Lot, he said to his people: "Do you commit immorality such as none of those of the worlds had done before?"

[26:165. Do you approach the males of the worlds?"]*

*7:81. "You are approaching the men out of lust instead of the women! Nay you are an transgressing people."*

*7:82. The only response of his people was no other than that they said: "Turn them out of your town;, Surely they are a people who keep themselves to be pure!"*

*7:83. We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who were destroyed.*

*7:84. And We showered  upon them a rain, so see how was the end for the criminals.*

*7:85.  And to Midyan, their brother Shu'ayb, he said: "My people, serve Allah, you have no god besides Allah. Clarity has come to you from your Rabb, so give full weight and measure, and do not hold back from the people what belongs to them, and do not make corruption on the earth after it has been set right. That is better for you if you believe."*

*7:86. "And do not stand on every path, robbing, and turning away from the way of Allah those who believe in Allah, and seeking to make it crooked. And remember that you were few and He increased you; and see how is the retribution of the corrupters."*

*7:87. "And if there is a group of you believes in what I have been sent with, and a group disbelieves, then wait patiently until Allah judges between us and Allah is the best of judges."*

*7:88. And the leaders who became arrogant from among his people said: "We will  surely drive you out of our town Shu'ayb, along with those who have believed with you, or you shall return to our faith!" He said: Are  you going to force us?"*

*7:89.  We will then be fabricated lies about Allah if we return to your creed after Allah has saved us from it; and we will not return to it except if Allah our Rabb wills, our Rabb encompasses everything with knowledge, in Allah we put our trust. Our Rabb, make an opening between us and between our people with the truth, you are the best of decide."*

*7:90. And said  the leaders who disbelieved from among his people said: "If you follow Shu'ayb, then you are losers."*

*7:91.  The earthquake took them, thus they became lifeless in their homes.*

*7:92.  Those who denied Shu'aib, it is as if they had never prospered therein. Those who denied Shu'aib, they were the losers.*

*7:93.  Thus he turned away from them, and said: "My people, I have delivered to you the messages of my Rabb and advised you. How could I mourn for people who have  disbelieving people(rejected the truth)?".*

*7:94.  Whenever we sent in a  city prophet to any community without trying its people with misfortune and hardship so that they might humble themselves.*

*7:95.  Then We changed the bad with good, until they increased and said: "Our Forefathers were touched by both hardship and prosperity." We then take them suddenly, while they are unaware.*

*7:96.   And if that people of the towns had believed and feared Allah, surely We would have opened for them blessings from the heavens and the earth; but they denied, so We took them for what they used to earn.*

*7:97.  Are the people of the towns sure that Our punishment will not come to them at night while they are asleep?*

*7:98.  Or do the people of any community feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them during the late morning while they are play?*

7:99.  Have they become secure from the plan of Allah? None are secure about the plan of Allah except the people who are the losers.

7:100.  Is it not a lesson for those who inherit the earth  from previous generationn that, if We so willed , We could have punished them immediately for their sins? And We put seal on their hearts, so they do not hear.
